I used to be super against the idea back when i first started playing halo, but I could get behind it now. I used to love the faceless one lining bit, but as I’ve gotten older and into the extended universe(particularly the fall of reach) you see he has much more to offer. Plus it would go with the exploring his humanity theme they’ve got going which I’m personally a fan of. Also they already show what he looks like in his early years the fall of reach comic and the prologue of halo 4 so seeing him now shouldn’t hurt anything.
Chief is more than a player avatar at this point. Not only has halo evolved past that, but gaming in general is past a silent “link” for the player to embody. I would like to see his face. I don’t see a reason not to.
I would love to have an unarmed level. This used to be pretty standard in games.
chief wakes up with no armor and no weapons. This would be a great way to show that a soldier/Spartan is more than the tech.

Kind of rules out theatre mode, though…
I dunno, I’m not really in favor of seeing his face but I’m starting to care less and less about that. Although having a level or a segment of a level where we’re armor and weaponless sounds kinda intriguing. I’d hope there would be an option to use stealth as that’s something I enjoy in games.

We have to admit that people still want to cling to that image of him. Yes, he is character more than an avatar now, but I don’t quite think we’re ready for anything of the sort. Who knows when it would be necessary for us to see him? It’d can’t be for just a quick snippet, nor would showing his face at the very end of a game would suffice. Could it happen in Halo 5? Potentially. There might be some room for the Chief to loose his armor, or he went AWOL without it. Perhaps he’s gotten some Forerunner version of MJOLNIR–imagine THAT on Chief. But if that is the case, then at some point, we’d have to see him without it, and thus, his face. I dunno. I personally would like to, as I have only recently joined the Halo world of gaming a year ago, so I’m not quite so attached to the avatar aspect, and more to his character. But I can see why so many others would hate it, and they’re the ones 343i wants to please.
