Would anyone be interested in seeing the SPI armor in gameplay? If not for Halo 5 then for Halo 6. I think it would be nice to feel a little more connected to the SPARTAN-III’s. I remember wishing they would make the Mark IV armour for every halo game since halo 3 and that wish was finally granted (Even though I have yet to unlock it).
Sorry my hyper links failed me I’m still trying to get used to the forums codes.
Link 1 - Link 2 - Link 3I wouldn’t mind that SPI was thrown in as a bonus, although I would prefer the remainder of the Classic Helmets to return. Still, SPI would be very nice indeed.
Kind of looks too much like the Eva armour. Kind of wish they had more armour types that didn’t look too similar since the problem with H5 is a lot of the armour’s generally end up having too many armours that look too similar, I’m sure some will even confuse SPI for the EVA in game.
Isn’t SPI garbage though? It doesn’t have shields and it is weaker than MJOLNIR armour. It couldn’t be added into the game unless it was heavily upgraded and modified, including the design. In the end it would just be an EVA copy, and Hermes already fills that role.

Personally speaking, it wouldn’t seem unusual for a set of armor to receive the MJOLNIR upgrade. Think of it as giving an old car a complete overhaul. Looks old on the outside, but it’s a completely different monster in the end.

Not garbage. It’s weaker than MJOLNIR and doesn’t have energy shielding, true, but it’s also quite a bit cheaper and has photoreactive panels that render it effectively invisible. As for upgrades… that’s nothing new when it comes to MJOLNIR variations. Nightfall, ODST, Mark IV, and Mark V weren’t initially designed for use with second-generation MJOLNIR, yet they have received modifications to ensure that they fully integrate with GEN2 armor components.
As for being an EVA copy, while true, I don’t think it’s that big of a concern. Halo 5 already has quite a few fishbowl-style helmets. One more isn’t going to do much harm. Especially not at this point in the game’s lifespan.
