Everyone who has read the books of halo has probably read Ghosts of Onyx, and are familiar with the armor worn by the Spartan-III’s. I for one was hoping for it to be available in Halo 5, but as of yet, has not come through. Even if it doesn’t make its appearance in Halo 5, i think that any fan of S-III’s would absolutely agree that it should be added in Halo 6. It would be a very cool addition to Halo, because it would bring to light this whole backstory to the S-III’s that maybe some people aren’t familiar with.
I don’t think it looks great, but I love the concept behind it and the Spartans that wear it. I would wear it for sure!
Also, I know Lupinthrope will want to add his voice to this lol.

I mean, I know it’s probably not very appealing to most people, but a lot of people who like the look of orbital, or Eva would probably like it. Eva is my favorite armor throughout halo, and SPI consists of a very similar look, and I really like the body design.
I dont like it design wise,but can understand when some people want it,so 50/50.
Didn’t SPI not have shielding (I can’t quite remember, it’s been years)? So it wouldn’t fit in MM canon.
Not a fan of how it looks but it would be cool to finally branch out some more in terms of Spartan armor.

Does ODST armor have shielding? Its just cosmetic really, also I think I read somewhere that Spartans could request armor conversions (like ODST) because it’s what they’re comfortable with, so it would look like the old armor, but function like MJNOLNIR. Not sure if that’s cannon though.

The design of the SPI armor looks iffy and the armor itself is basically the Spartan III version of EVA.
Would it have low shielding but light camo?
I would be interested to see it in game, but doubt it would fit in multiplayer modes.
Halo 6 should have that, would be cool.

ODST armor worn by Spartans is a port of the standard ODST suit for MJOLNIR.
SPI is a completely different suit from the MJOLNIR platform and has been rendered outdated by MJOLNIR Gen-II, though like MK IV it’s still in use by certain individuals and/or has seen it’s properties applied to ODST and Spartan-IV armor. It didn’t have shields, save for the experimental ones worn by Heahhunters. It also had a built-in active camouflage, though it was rather lackluster compared to the Covenant’s.
While we could see it in multiplayer, it’d be treated like Fotus and Seeker where it’s not canon.

The original SPI didn’t have it, but Mark IV also didn’t originally have shielding. Just say the armor was overhauled to be compatible with MJOLNIR GEN2 systems and it’ll be fine. They did already did that for Mark IV and Nightfall, so they shouldn’t have any problems doing it again.
Still better then the Halo 4/5 armor sets
