I found out that the halo 5 final version will only have 2 player split screen. We need to show 343 that they can’t take valuae things away from us like 4 player split screen. Taking local players online was the best.
Honestly, Split Screen has never been a huge part of my ‘Halo life’. I barely remember times when I did go into Split Screen.
The way I see it, This is going to annoy a LOT of players. But if 4 player split screen won’t support 60fps for everyone, Then it just dampens the experience.
“But we don’t care about framerate!”, But then players will complain about split screen ‘lag’.
I think 2 player split screen is fine. But if they can get 4, Then go for it.

Wait, where have you heard this?
Because that’s completely unacceptable if true.
I don’t give a shіt if frame rate suffers just give me 4 player split screen damn it.

I really hope we get 4 player split screen, LAN parties with that where so much fun.

Yes so many of us have awesome memories, but 343 enjoys destroying them.
I’m confused. Expansion of online infrastructure in last 20 or 10 years haven’t changed the way we live and procreate. We are, and always will be living with our families (if not parents and siblings, then our wives and children) and even having some huge number of online “friends” will never change that. They want us to buy another console by limiting local players? In that case, why does console support 4 pads? Why do we buy these large TVs?

So, when baby is sick, kill the baby?
I sure do its one of the reasons I play on xbox is for 4 player fps in particular halo. Please add it in 343!
I live in a family of six and all 3 of my siblings play Halo. Want to know how? Split screen. Yes, we were annoyed with the significant frame rate drops, but we dealt with them nonetheless. It seems like 343 has now taken the extra effort to screw us over. And no, the excuse that they were unable to implement it is a whole load of -Yoink-, considering the fact that it worked in the past. -Yoinking!- unacceptable.
me
Everyone wants it. It’s essential for LAN parties (if we ever get real LAN support on Xbox One).

343i can’t even get 2 player split to run smooth.
If it’s true Halo 5 doesn’t support 4-player split screen, then I’ll just stick with Halo MCC.
Well here is the thing about 4 player split-screen. I know you guys say “I don’t give a -Yoink- about framerate” but this is the reason that sucks. Ok so there is a weird thing where on most first person shooter games (Halo included) where the speed that bullets shoot and hit people depend of framerate. So if you have 4 people in split-screen then you go online against people who are playing with only one person per console then they will have an unfair advantage because they can shoot faster from having a higher framerate. Now maybe including 4 player split-screen on local only would not be a problem but it just wouldn’t work online. I honestly hate split-screen and I think playing with more than 2 per console is really annoying. I haven’t played any split-screen games on Xbox One yet so I don’t know if it’s better than it was on 360 but it was always -Yoink- there,
If you want 4 player split screen, stick to last generation gaming. Don’t degrade my gaming experience because you and your friends are too cheap to get a console of your own. Because in reality, that’s all it does is drag the graphics down.

Including split screen will in no way “degrade your gaming experience”.

With your attitude you should invest in high-end pc and leave consoles to right kind of people.

I have both. Whereas, you obviously have no concept of how much strain even two person split screen can put of a games graphic engine. There is a reason it isn’t being supported not just by 343, but majority of next gen developers.
I use to play Halo split screen. But I decided to get a separate Xbox so that both family members of mine could enjoy different games at the same time. Has worked out pretty decently.
