It’s from The Package, from Halo Legends and it is also the armor Chief wears in Forward unto Dawn. It is a toy, but that is not the point.
Look at this instead, same armor.
It’s solid in the old school sense. Utilitarian powered assault armor. Nothing exotic or flashy, like Halo 4’s -Yoink!- my Halo… I waiting for Chief’s dream house to drop as part of 343’s ridiculous cross-marketing.
I prefer MC’s H4 armour myself. It’s still bulky, but more streamlined.
In any case, H5’s armour is quite a bit more bulky, so you may be getting what you want in that respect.

I also like the Halo 4 MC armor, ut it’s the only one I like. I suggested this because I want the iconic armor and I want it recognisable.
That’s the Package armor. I wasn’t really fond of it to be honest.
I like the new MC armor but thats it the rest of the armor pieces are ugly.
I like the simple armor in halo 3 but I also like the accessories that was in halo reach. If that could make a return I would be happy.

I always liked the halo legends character designs, especially the elites! (shipmaster looks great)
In my opinion, this armor ( Mark IV with a different design ) is the most super-soldier looking armor to ever appear in a Halo game. The main features that make me say this are the physical proportions of the Spartan and armor ( Muscular V shaped torso with bulk pectoral armor plates ) , large and long arms ( which are more fully covered by the armor plating than in other Halos ) , and lastly the beautiful black armored undersuit! The undersuit actually looks metallic as it should ( From what I know, the undersuit layer is actually made with titanium alloys and other flexible materials ) and is a nice color of black making the colored armor plates appear bolder.
I may not be a Spartan player, but I can honestly say that the simple and less bulky armor designs from CE to 3 were a much nicer design on appearance. Didn’t make the Master Chief huge and they actually explained the armor transitions in each game.
HELL FRAGGING YES I WOULD TAKE THAT ARMOR ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!
Ahem…now that I got that out of my system yes I would absolutely love to see that make an appearance in Halo 5. It’s big, it’s tanky, it’s menacing, it is the kind of thing I imagine when I think of “powered assault armor”…well…asides from Astartes Mk VII Aquila pattern armor.

I honestly like his armor in The Package and in Forward Unto Dawn than in Halo 4. I wish the Spartans in Halo 5 actually had a full black padded undersuit instead of those weird muscle inducing black-red/black-blue undersuits in Halo 4.

They do need to make H5’s armor less “abstract” halo 4’s armor just felt foreign
Guess I’m in the minority since I’m a 343i fanboy, but I happen to LOVE their art asthetics and rather like MC’s armor from HALO 4. Heck, I love ALL their tweaks to the classic Bungie designs and I pray to God that they continue to make the game the way they want and evolve it in their direction. If people want old clunky MC let them play MCC.
