I hope that they do come back in Halo 4, and maybe instead of having several chest pieces have robotic arm counterparts, we just have the option of a robotic arm. That way it could go with any chest piece and maybe even have it on the left or right arm. Haha maybe even both. Although a Spartan without either arms is a little sad… but the option in the armory could look like this:
I would just like to say any attachment like this, or katana, ect should be part of an extension area in the armory. How they are bundled with chests are annoying.
No, I hate seeing tryhard kids running around with robot arms since it’s sooooo cool…
A good spartan wouldn’t loose his/her arm.
And it wouldn’t make sense. Since these are Spartan IV and they are adults that already is fighting with the UNSC then why would they have robot arms? A man without an arm wouldn’t not fight in the UNSC so why would he be a spartan?

Yeah that is true, canonically it might not make the most sense.
But then again it doesn’t exactly make sense for Infection gametypes to be in the game either or for four Master Chief clones to be hanging out in Forward Unto Dawn before the game starts. But I’m glad those things are in the game for the fun factor.
For that reason I hope Robot arms are back along with Infection and Action Sack gametypes.
But for making sense, yeah it doesn’t. But it is fun…
No, never mind the fact that having a robot arm in a combat zone is a dumb idea, but in a time where the military can create flash clones and create extra body parts for the Spartans it becomes an even more rediculous concept.

1.) Zombie survival is a real thing that some citys say is something they prepare for, no matter how ridiculous that sounds its true also the flood was a thing.
2.) The chief clones could be a figment of chiefs imagination. That last one sounds like crap but its writer b.s 101 and a tool I see used a lot these days.
I honestly thought it was kind of silly for the Multiplayer Spartans.
It’s one thing to imagine that a few rare Spartans may have lost limbs here and there, it’s another to see entire 8 player of Spartans who all somehow coincidentally lost their right arm.
Fine for a campaign character? Yup. Multiplayer accessible? Completely unnecessary.

I like the robot arm, and would be happy to see it return. It’s good looking, cool and yes its shame that its so common but its something different to look at from first person.
Canonically speaking the robot arm does make sense for a Spartan. Even a Spartan-IV might lose an arm. There is a lot of speculation that James had a robot arm after his arm was blown off by a Hunter, as he was able to get back into the fight and salute the Chief shortly after the injury occurred. Now there was either a flash clone arm just nearby or they attached a robotic arm as a temporary measure (or full replacement).

Infection doesn’t imply Zombie Survival. If it did we wouldn’t just be slightly different coloured Spartans. All it implies is that it’s another War Game variant the Spartans play, some of them are “infected” (doesn’t mean ANYTHING aside from what team they are on), and the others are “human”.

In your opinion, it could just be a game like capture the flag is. The original poster said why would they be infection in war games when zombies aren’t real.

No idea. Best I can come up with is that her flash cloned arm simply wasn’t ready by the time Reach was attacked and so she was stuck with her temporary robotic arm. There just isn’t enough information on flash-cloned organs and robotic prosthetics, we know that Spartans receive flash-cloned organs but it might simply be down to that she’s a Spartan-III or just didn’t want one.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing about the arm. I haven’t read alot of the books, but from what I’ve been looking up, she might have chosen to keep it because it could be more effective. In another forum, CrispyChicken said this:
> As described by Captain Ponder in Halo Contact Harvest, the prosthetics are made of Titanium. Titanium is also what makes up the MJOLNIR Armor, well, Titanium Carbide. That would mean that the prosthetic would have the same strength as the armor, plus since it’s hydraulic, it should have the same, or even more punching, lifting, and just pure power.
And then on the Halo wiki, it said that Kat’s was permanent and that the arm would be considerably stronger than a flesh and blood one, along with a couple other interesting things. Here’s the link: Artificial limb
Sorry I don’t have first hand sources, but it’s about all I can get this early.
So maybe she chose to keep it rather than get a flash cloned arm.
“I’m a super soldier–trained before I hit puberty, biologically augmented, and wearing a half ton of power armor–but I wasn’t good enough to keep all my limbs intact.”
Sorry but that’s the vibe I get from robotic arms.
