Who wants an RPG set in the Halo Universe

How awesome would it be if 343 created a vast RPG set in the Halo Universe that would even trump Mass Effect?

Example of a story arc… A Spartan IV leaves the UNSC & heads off on his/her own to save a portion of the galaxy from a hybrid flood outbreak started by a splinter group within ONI… and builds his/her attributes, team & inventory along the way.

Not just the flood… A hybrid Promethian/Flood outbreak

Called Halo Spartan Ops, Rouge Hunter. (Or something)

Absent the title, I think I’m cooking with gas!

The plot sounds bad IMO

I would like on the other hand an RPG Set during the Forerunner Human War! OR the Forerunner Flood War
would be badass maybe making it like Mass effect where you lead your own crew and explore the galaxy!

The orginal forerunner human war…? That is genius!

It could be a hybrid “Knights of the old Republic” type formula. I would be crackin skulls to be the first in line to pick up this game.

Great post man, thanks!

I would love some action RPG by Platinum games, a badass Arbiter dual wielding energy swords destroying armies.

that might be cool

RPG is the next untouched genre by Halo. I would like to see this.

Definitely more in support of Human-Covenant Era over anything. We have little to nothing to build on with the other eras. AND it would have to be sensibly consequential.

I’d quite like to see an open world Halo MMO where there is the UNSC and covenant sides.
Your objective is to save/destroy various human cities on different planets.
There can be two separate Campaigns similar style to ODST but you are elected missions in the vast city landscape.
A control based gametype where the whole city is a battleground and the Team with the most kills in that week saves or destroys the city.
There can be classic Arena/BTB Halo multiplayer
And a massive once again literal city sized firefight mode.

1 Problem, there is no understandable way the multiplayer could fit into the Halo lore unless the Infinity have done extreme upgrades to War games.

Massively Multiplayer Online  Meaning lots of people engaging in PvP (player vs. player)

As for the original topic, I really don’t see how a Halo RPG (role playing game) could work well. RPGs need too much character development and changes to arsenol to fit into Halo. I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking it. If they can do it and make it into a good game, I’ll buy it. How’s that sound? Lol (Laugh out loud)

All of this would be awesome

I would love to see a Halo pen and paper RPG, also a Massively Multiplayer FPS like Planetside for Halo would be great.

Halo RPG with similaritys to the modern Fallout engine would be awesome!

Wasn’t Bungie at one point planning on a RPG? Anyhow I wouldn’t know what type of RPG I would want for a Halo game. I guess I would want lots of class customizing and skills so I can truly make a class that fits me.

Halo is the only series in which I will buy every game, no matter how crappy. I don’t even like Spartan Assault, but I’ll buy Spartan Strike when it comes out for X1.

They were shortly after Halo 2. It got canned, but I think that’s what started the idea for Destiny.

Yes, and I want to be able to fly around in my ship and be able to fight rebel ships and the covenant remnant. Kind of like mass effect where you go to all these different planets but I want actual space exploration. And I want to be able to walk around my ship like you can in AC:4.

Halo has such a massive, and rich universe that I don’t think is being utilized to it’s full potential when it comes to gameplay. A Halo game with elements of RPG, or a full RPG title, would make better use of the Halo Universe and allow fans to access and explore all corners and be introduced to new ones.

The Halo series is much more than just a first-person shooter.

I would love to see it happen
