Who wants a Classic playlist added?

I personally want to see there be a Classic Halo playlist and I’am 100% sure there are other people who want to see that happen. Let this be a word to 343i

There have been rumors of talks of a gametype added in matchmaking that ressembles classic Halo. It would be Team Throwdown, with radar and choice of primary.

I just want a gametype added to existing playlists that’s a bit of a hybrid between Infinity and Classic. I’m hoping that’s what Legendary will be.

[/li]- First, keep sprint.

  • Second, give me a really good weapon balance update – better than the current attempt. Though, I did like what I read in the 4-25-13 bulletin about the DMR’s RRR.

  • Then fix the MMing system so that it prevents lobbies from beginning a match start until an even number of players exist on each team.

  • Followed by having pre-determined Loadouts that include the “Replenish” and “Stealth” perks along with Frags, a Magnum, either a Battle Rifle or maybe an altered DMR, and no AA. However, depending on how good the weapon balance really is, perhaps the pre-determined Loadouts could be even more extensive.

  • Next remove the randomness of the Global Ordinance Drops. Instead use initial Drops for ubber power weapons. These should simply re-occur (same location, same power weapons) on specific timers that are ideal for the weapon. Plus, having primary precision weapons and grenades as map pick-ups would also be ideal. Anyways, this requires a view of all the weapons on a tier basis.

  • Include select AAs that are determined to provide key competitive advantages as part of the Global Ordinance Drop system. They should represent equipment pick-ups. AAs should have long re-spawn timers or short timers that don’t begin until the current user of an AA dies. Use the Active Camo in a manner in which it acts as a replacement for an Invisibility Power-Up. I also think that Regeneration Field, Hardlight Shield, and Hologram would be other commonly placed AAs.

  • Lastly, turn the Personal Ordinance Drops into a method of earning Power Ups, though also treat them on a tier basis. 1st POD = Speed Boost, 2nd POD = Speed Boost & Overshield, 3rd POD = all options. The requirement for earning PODs could be tweaked too, so that the first POD was easier to achieve, but the next two are more difficult than normal.

IF. And only if, it is 100% classic. Meaning:
-AR and Magnum loadout
-No AA’s
-No Sprint
-Weapons on Map
-No Ordnance
-2 frags in loadout
-The new weapons don’t need to be removed just they need to be on map.

With all do respect, what you are describing is a way of fixing infinity and not a classic playlist at all. I respect that you want a hybrid playlist for Legendary, but it definatley wouldn’t be classic at all with personal ordnance and sprint, just toned down infinity.

This would be amazing.

A playlist that follows basic tenets of past games but also keeps the new sandbox and map additions to the game.

> -AR and Magnum loadout

In 4v4 I could tolerate this.
On Big Team, no.

Yes, I was describing a hybrid playlist between Infinity and Classic, because I don’t want a Classic playlist as much as I want that particular hybrid playlist. Honestly, if I wanted to play something more Classic I’d simply put in Halo Anniversary or Halo 3. Also, my intent wasn’t to present a fix to Infinity, as I believe Infinity works pretty good for what Infinity is. Heck, the only thing I’d really want to change in Infinity would be to modify what could be received through PODs – certainly none of the truly powerful power weapons. However, my comments about the Weapon Balance and requiring even teams before a match start would apply too, as they’re meant to be applied to all games.

If it resembles:
Anniversary FFA, Anniversary 4v4, then of course i want a Classic Playist.

Yes, that does look fun and I like how it follows some of the basic tenets of past games, but keeps with the new sandbox and other game additions, which is why I preferred to see a hybrid playlist.

The only real differences I see between what I posted and that video deals with the inclusion of modified PODs and the placement of specific AAs on the map.

Mixed opinion actually, so I can’t vote. Do you mean for the ENTIRE game to go back to basics, or just this theoretical playlist? If for the entire game, then no. We need to move forward, not backward, but what we need to do is make forward work.

Like eLantern, I want a hybrid, if under slightly different settings.

OT: I want a playlist similar to old, but I don’t want the entire game to downgrade to past 10 years of progress.
