Who wanted Red VS Blue removed for "your spartan" customization?

This game has many issues and this isn’t the biggest but who wanted red vs blue removed? No one wanted this game to be free either, I just don’t understand any of the decisions made with this game, they only make sense monetarily. Which is sad, so tired of these “games” that are just made to be a cash dump, not a fun experience.

I like the new way. I have nostalgia for the old way, but it’s hard to deny how smooth and effective this new system is.

Its smooth having to unlock red 40 times for each piece of armor? Its smooth having to unlock the same visor color for each core? Its smooth having to unlock the same thing over and over again for a slight difference in armors?

Had moments where i couldnt tell who was on my team or not and most of the coatings are so ugly i dont really even wanna see em
Just give me a toggle for it at least

I meant specifically for team identification, like red vs blue was used for.

Never once in a Halo game did I need to know what color i was to tell teammates apart, teammates have always had arrows for indicators and enemies had red names. I could play in black and white and I’d always know who’s on my team.

Yeah that sounds like bullcrap

So the outline is easier than an entire body of one colour? If I pop around a corner and walk into someone, it’s hard to tell that close if I bumped into a friendly or enemy whereas before I just look anywhere on the body for a colour.

Honestly, I remember talking about this very setup in Halo 3 lobbies way back when. The question was often raised, “why do we bother with color customization when it’s overwritten in every team game?”

And now we’re here. I like the Infinite setup. The guys I’ve been playing Halo with for fifteen years agree. Is it perfect? Nah, nothing is. But it is better, imho.

Considering you can see less customization once the “outline” effect is in full (when your damaged at all), yeah, I’d rather have Red and Blue. Also, I’m tired of people coming around the corner and not knowing if they’re friendly or not, because they’re too in my face to see their outline.

If I can play warzone with the entire lobby using the same damn skins I can do it in Halo with the very easy to see outlines. You think I could tell what uniforms people had on in BF3 when playing on a crappy CRTV with 360 graphics? No I only knew who my teammates were from the indicators everyone had.

I’m used to the new system now… and I wouldn’t want to go back. My enemies are always yellow now. It’s so much easier.

And I like seeing where my team mates are. What they are doing. Where they are heading. If they need help.

Would be happy for the option for players to remove outlines of players that are visible. Each to their own. But I’m happy to leave them as is on my side.

Red vs. blue has worked for twenty years. I don’t see an issue with it. It’s objectively better.

To be honest, I did

Whenever I colored my Spartan in previous games it always did kind of suck to me of how they’d just be painted over in modes that weren’t FFA or Firefight. I distinctly remember wishing to be able to have my Spartan be something other than Red or Blue in BTB and here we are.

I for one am happy for it and like it with the added bonus of being able to color the outlines whatever color you want.

That’s what added to those modes though. It was nice to hop into FFA and FF and knowing that you’re there representing yourself. It helped differentiate the game mode and made you feel like “Your own man” in a sense. Now everyone just has a stupid outline which ironically makes everyone feel EXACTLY the same no matter the game type you’re in. With all this PR nonsense about representing your Spartan everywhere in this game, I never TRULY can because everyone looking at me isn’t looking at my character, they’re looking at a Tron outline shading over it which is a visual choice I didn’t choose to have. So no matter how much I want my spartan to be red, or purple, or green, etc… That will always contrast with whatever color outline SOMEBODY ELSE dictates should be hovering over me, and it thusly ruins the color scheme and personal choices I made on MY Spartan.

I don’t know, almost like you are playing a team game???

Every team game in human history uses the same outfit to make themselves known to each other. Outlines are an bloated solution to a problem that didn’t exist. You want to see your personal colors? go play free for all or make a custom game option.

I wanted RVB removed. I don’t hate RVB but I always thought it was a hinderance on customization forcing everyone to use the same colours. I think the outline system works perfectly fine now in comparison. I really have little to no issues telling if a player is an enemy or not.

I am glad for the change. Making everybody red and blue severely limits your customisation. Especially in Halo 5 you might have this hyper detailed model but the second you slap the garishly bright red or blue on it seems to bleach any detail from it. Very difficult to tell what armour people are wearing in game and it just looks bad.

How? There’s literally a big arrow on top of your allies and their name plates. Then when you shoot at the ones without these things, a big red shield pops up.

You may be color blind, if that’s the case, shoot at the moving spartans without names or arrows. There are also accessibility options that you can play around with.

bro are you dumb
