I don’t know if it was just me, but I never ever saw anybody using this vehicle. The only time I ever see it used is at the start of The Ark in the campaign. Was this ever used in competitive or anything? Dunno if it was a younger me but I always thought the Prowler deserved more love, it was like a snowmobile!
I think it was reserved mainly for campaign since the main enemies were Brutes. I liked its charm as well, but I feel like Bungie realized the Warthog would always be a better vehicle for multiplayer. I can’t recall seeing it on any matchmaking maps. Can’t say I missed it there though. But, I’d jump in the Prowler whenever I played “The Ark” with a buddy.

Unless you mean for balance purposes then I can totally understand why they would think it’s a better vehicle for multiplayer because the warthog is much easier to lose control of and roll opposed to the prowler which seems to just glide along the ground thus making it more balanced for the players trying to combat it.
It made brief appearances on different variations of Sandtrap, but it was always underutilized. It served as a great vehicle for obtaining splatters, but the plasma cannon mounted on top wasn’t really much to be desired.

I think it was more used for the Campaign rather than Online although I think I remember seeing it once within Online, might be just me but I do remember it being used a heck of alot in Custom games! Wasn’t a bad vehicle if I’m honest and I quite enjoyed it!
I seem to recall is being on Sandtrap at one point (BTB Heavies, maybe?) Regardless, the mounted plasma cannon was pretty weak so my guess is many avoided it for that reason. It is fun to drive though, I will give it that much.

The Prowler and the Halo 2 Spectre are in the same category. They were great ideas but players didn’t seem to really enjoy using them outside of the rare custom game here and there.

I preferred the Spectre myself due to it controlling similarly to the Ghost, but again it’s the plasma cannon on top that just doesn’t allow both of those vehicles to compete with the Warthog unfortunately.

Yeah, throwing rocks would do more damage that those turrets. Great vehicles but lacked firepower. Maybe we’ll see a buffed up “Banished” version in Halo Infinite.

You throw me a Prowler that shoots spikes or Brute Shot grenades instead of plasma and that would immediately be a game changer for that vehicle.

Reading that description makes it sound like something out of a Mad Max film.

Any Fury Road sequels they decide to make moving forward remove the big rig truck and just replace it with a building sized Prowler.

That would be fantastic! A vehicle that is “loosely” based on the Prowler from Halo would be an awesome Easter Egg.
I used it somewhat, but I prefer the Spectre from Halo 2. Warthog all the way.
The prowler was definitely a lot of fun.
