Let me start off saying that on the whole I really like many of the armor designs in halo 5. Now that being said there are many armor sets that feature atrocious white paint jobs smeared all over them. Personally I hate the asymmetric white paint that has been thrown on a lot of these armors sets. A lot of the legendary and mythic armors are simply covered in more of this stupid white coloring. I’m not saying they should be removed or anything as some people really enjoy them but I would like some more variants with symmetrical paint jobs and a lot LESS of that ugly white paint on them.
Dave did it.
I think out of all armor variants there’s at least one basic armor piece without the altered painting. Just go for that one then.
I just wish we could go back to Reach level of customization. All colors, plus way more different armor pieces that can be changed independant of each other. I like a lot of the armors, but hate almost all of the shoulders, elbows, and legs. Hell, even your voice could be changed…
The thing about it that is annoying is when on the battlefield you have to look twice to see which team the white guys are on.

I miss this as well. I hope they add the ability to change each piece of armor like in past games.

That’s an exaggeration. I’ve never found it difficult to determine friend or foe from the armor paint job. But if in doubt…if the name above the Spartan is RED, shoot them!

I wish this was true but a lot of armor sets do not feature a baseline set with a basic paint job.

I find this happens more frequently in warzone than arena. In warzone there are serious issues with players names not appearing above players heads until your pretty close to them. If you are the gunner on a vehicle or driving a tank you could easily blast your own team mates since there is no indicator above their heads if they are more than 50 meters away from you.

Again…I’ve never had this problem. Though don’t worry about accidentally popping a friendly on Warzone. Friendly fire is turned off for those modes.

Lmao
It’s reflective paint so your teamates see you in the dark and don’t splatter you.
Never understood these types of posts. Choice of armor has no impact on your ability to play so it doesn’t matter what you wear. You’re playing dress-up Barbie and yet kids get butt hurt when they see a piece of armor they don’t like. SMH.

Its not a game breaking feature for me but a LOT of people enjoy customization options. I guess you would be happy playing a shooter where everyone is just a grey box scooting around the map huh.

I agree 100% with this, sometimes (most times) when players are far off you get no indication of team until your being shoot at. So the rule is shoot first ask questions later!
I agree, WTF did they do to Helljumper? Both variants have that stupid white crap all over the chest.
I’m pretty sure each variant of armor has a base version that doesn’t have the designs on them. And even if not all of them do, just don’t wear the armor if you don’t like it, simple.

I’ve had this happen, not gonna lie. It is worse when there is a lot of white on the armor and they are using a powerup gives them a third color overlay like Damage Boost or Overshield. There’s definitely been times when I had to take a second to look twice, and while usually it isn’t an issue, sometimes a second is all you have to start shooting.

Some armors have a baseline variant but as I pointed out in a previous post there are also many armors that do not feature a baseline variant with a basic paint job. Some are only available smothered in that white coloring.
