Who thinks the BR is over powered

I think the BR is over powered. Im not against the weapon update but i think more bloom should have been added to the DMR. Instead they uped the power on the BR. what do yal think.

I think the BR has a good kill time balanced out with its accuracy/aim assist. It fills the role it is supposed to; an all purpose weapon meant for short to medium range encounters. It’s pointless having the DMR be the beset weapon at close, medium and long ranges

over powered? no. By a long shot. no.

DMR isn’t under powered either. you just want to use it at a close range and that will get you killed quick.

The battle rifle is over used but not over powered. Personally i stick with the Carbine, and trust me, i have no trouble taking out people who use the BR.

Regardless of if the BR is OP or not, going back to a 5-shot kill is NOT the way to go.

I think the BR is fine where it is now, the weapons balancing is pretty solid. I do miss the DMR being able to compete with the BR in solo engagements at mid range. So I’d vote a slight buff to the DMR/light rifle at mid range, if possible.

I think the BR in halo 4 is really easy to use

I think the BR is balanced quite well. Honestly I think a big problem that leads to the misconception that the BR is over powered is movement speed. This is how I break it down.

Halo 4 BR has a good kill time, but has quite a bit of magnetism and hitscan. This makes the gun easier to use obviously. However the Halo 2 BR had roughly the same mechanics. High bullet magnetism and hitscan. But in Halo 2 you had a faster base movement speed, that being said you could actually avoid being shot. You could strafe and it would actually matter.

If the strafing component made a strong return I believe the BR would seem less over powered to a lot of people.

As far as the ability to maneuver the map being hindered due to BR users. This can be accomplished by almost any weapon and a team set up. So that argument isn’t really valid.

So in conclusion NO I don’t think the BR is overpowered. It does have a little too much magnetism. But the kill times work and the hitscan in my opinion is necessary. Think about it if you could actually strafe faster with a faster base movement speed, then you could actually make people miss and the BR wouldn’t seem so OP.

Keep in mind this is all an opinion feel free to agree or disagree.

IMO its balanced really well.

Wait are you saying 5 shot kill or 5 shot burst? I’m assuming if you think its over powered you wouldn’t want it to kill quicker.

t’s a bit OP I believe. Too easy to use, fire rate could decrease by a bit and the one more bullet to penetrate shields.

BR is perfect in this game. No changes needed.

It should have stayed the way it was when the game came out. All the guns where perfect accept the dmr. All 343 needed to do was add bloom to the dmr and all the guns would have been perfect.

OT:I do think the br is a little bit OP, maybe it should shoot a little slower. (just a idea)

IDK sometimes I think so, it can stay a 4sk but it just so easy to use.

What 343 should’ve done was reduce the DMR RoF and increase the Carbine to 7sk and everything is perfect imo but the way it is now is fine too but still.

I could go a small buff to the strafe acceleration, I think that would be a nice tweak.

I don’t mind BR being a 4 shot gun. My only problem with it is the range and kill time. Imo I think its kill time is too quick for a 4 shot kill weapon.

You know there’s a problem with the BR when people are using it on BTB maps.

Why?

I personally think that returning it to the 4SK utility weapon was the correct move by 343. What I don’t understand is making it 11 bullets to kill, instead of the 12 we have seen previously.

The simple fact that it is so simple to use has actually led to my BRing in general getting poorer. Despite the fact I do very well with it on 4, when I return to Halo 3 I get demolished by players whose BRing is more polished. That’s all just my opinion but the 11SK has led to strafing and dodging in general becoming redundant, as missing a shot slightly isn’t a big deal anymore.

the br in h3 was great , and yes lately i think the br on h4 is OP , its making me think abt quiting the DMR and going back to it

It isn’t overpowered.

I think it should have a bit of a ROF nerf. The one we got was barely noticeable, as if it was never implemented.
