The only two people im sad who died in Halo Reach were Noble 6 and Katt.
And out of all the Spartans to get away. Bungie let Jun get away. Does anyone like Jun at all???
But who would you of had live in the end.

As much as I want my Noble 6 to live, Jorge is just too awesome. Since he’s a Spartan II, he’s arguably the most valuable alive.
Carter, he’s a SPARTAN, he could of put the Pelican on autopilot and jumped out the back accomplishing the same results.
…sigh, idiot.

He was going to die anyways.
And who I would of made live?
No one.
Hard to say. But, I’d like to think that there is a possibility that Jorge might just be alive somewhere in the galaxy. Just kinda depend on if that displaced hunk of Covie ship exploded or not.
The Premise of the plan was to use the slipspace bomb to move part of the ship elsewhere, So it might just be possible he’s out there; scratching his head in zero g, trying to figure out how to fly a Sabre
It’s not up to me who lives or dies. I am just a soldier; i go where i am needed and put down the bad guys with my rifle…sir.

K, but he’s dead.

No, he’s one dead Spartan. No one, not even a Spartan can survive a slipspace detonation (he was very close to the bomb, you do the math).
I know you don’t mean anything by it but these “Jorge is alive!” theories are really ridiculous. Plus even if lived (remember he’s dead) what purpose would that serve for the overall story of Halo? It would be simple fan service and wouldn’t be a good addition to the Halo canon by making him survive the slipspace detonation.
Plus, Bungie intended to kill off all of Noble Team anyways because the game was made to be a tragedy of sorts and what usually happens to characters in a tragedy-military based story? They die. They don’t fly magic carpets into Agrabah and they sure as hell don’t survive slipspace based explosions. It ripped the Long Night of Solace in two, Jorge never had a chance in the world to survive.

We don’t know for sure that his chest wound was fatal. I think he was just sick of fighting a losing battle (Reach) and wanted to make one more NOBLE act before shipping out.
Also, Jorge’s poor decision making probably lead to his death. He could of pressed a button, activated the slipspace drive and then jumped ship with NOBLE.
Again, I think it was his depression at Reach’s imminent fall that lead to his wish to die before seeing it completely glassed.

There is a law with media, Unless we saw him actually get disintegrated into space dust; He is effectively alive. A prime example? Johnson on the Halo Ring, they came up with canon to bring him back after the game.
Halo 2 would actually support this by the way. When Regret’s ship slipspaced in the middle of new mombasa it took entire buildings with it. Building that were caught in the slipspace rupture and brought along. Who is to say that somewhere in space, There is not an intact Covenant cruiser and a giant hunk of Super Carrier.

“Noble leader, seek immediate medical attention”.
Sounds pretty serious to me.

Serious, not fatal. People survive serious injuries all the time. He would of been fine had he jumped off the Pelican. Granted he had his helmet back on.

You want an other law?
Pics or -Yoink-.
Unless you can physically prove he’s still alive, assuming the detonation didn’t kill him and he can breathe in 0g, assuming the part of the carrier he was in actually got transported relatively intact, he’s dead

First, it was explained that Johnson survived with a handful of marines via Pelican BEFORE the Chief blew up the Autumn. Since it was possible that Pelicans can travel in vacuum, it is a totally survival outcome. This is why it makes sense.
Jorge’s situation is different that he was right next to the bomb when he set it off to take out the Solace. I don’t know what planet you’ve been on recently but when bombs go off they tend to explode and kill anyone within it’s blast radius. Plus all the radiation that was released would have fried Jorge’s shielding systems and effectively kill the Spartan on the spot. If not the radiation, then the sheer power of the bomb would have done the trick. The damn thing rip the solace in two, what the hell you think it’s going to do a Spartan who has significantly less mass than a Covenant Ship? If he survived all that, not only would that NOT make any sense, it would also make Jorge the most resilient character in the Halo universe. Since this outcome isn’t survivable (unlike the Johnson example), it’s safe to say he’s dead.
Nice try though but Halo 2 doesn’t support your flawed argument. Ships and building debris have much more mass than humans do, Spartan or no. Try to at least make an viable argument because using that example from Halo 2 doesn’t exactly say “Jorge is alive ZOMG /nerdgasm”. A successful slipspace jump requires two tears (jumping being the first, exiting slipspace the second.), Regrets ship made two of them. Spartans with the Mark V or VI armor configurations are incapable of jumping/traveling through Slipspace so even if got that far, he would be stuck and eventually run out of oxygen.
It was mentioned at some point that there was only 1 re-entery pack, only 1 of them would have made it. Also when you hit the “button” it activates imeadeately. No time to jump out.
None of Noble team really died in the game. Remember, they’re all missing in action.
