Ok, so, I know that after last Monday’s episode of Hunt the Truth, most people are supporting the theory that “Pharaoh” is Dr. Halsey, manipulating things while in exile. Now, while I would most certainly love to see this become true, I believe we shouldn’t just stick to just the one theory, at least not if there is any other possibility. And, my friends and fellow Halo fans, I’ve only now come up with one. It’s a little wild, but please humor me.
I was listening again to all the episodes a couple of hours ago, and something caught my attention. What Ben says about Petra Janecek “making a name for herself” and being “unhappy” about him getting the story while she was still waiting for her face-to-face with MC got me thinking… what if Petra decided to investigate on her own like Ben did and found the same evidence first? She said it herself in episode 4: “Honestly, I love the idea of cutting the strings and tearing it all down…” But what if she decided that putting her own life on the line was too risky? What if she decided to let Ben find out the same stuff on his own? What if she somehow knew that her old friend would also try to get to the bottom of it all?
She probably also knows that Ben records everything for a story/interview. Both conversations she’s had with him so far (yes, even the one at his place) could be her putting on a show so that whatever stuff ONI listens to will make her look like she’s a victim and an unwilling player in all of this, when in reality she’s the one who wants this to see the light of day. Moreover, when Mshak said that Pharaoh had contacted him, she said that it was her cue to get as far away from Ben and Ray as possible. Sure, she could be scared… but what if she need to be “as far away as possible” because she doesn’t want them to know the truth–that she’s Pharaoh?
Crazy theory, I know, but I remembered something that a couple of friends and I used to joke about in school. Cleopatra was the last active Pharaoh before the Roman conquest of Egypt–and she was a woman. The joke? My friends and I used to spell it as Cleopetra. Cleo-Petra.
This will probably lead to nowhere, but I needed to get this out of my chest. And, to be frank, I also wanted to rank up in Waypoint, so I figured, why not post this? Anyway, I accept all comments, whether you agree or not. Have a nice day!
