This is such a common occurrence. It’s absurd that in 2022 decisions like this pass WC.
BTB deadlock, CTF.
Through the game, the enemy team had:
2 scorpions
1 wraith
1 wasp
We got:
2 warthogs
1 gun goose
1 rocket hog
Seriously - this is so frustrating as naturally the team WITH THE TANKS wins every time.

The concept of the vehicle drops are actually something I liked when I first heard about them - Pelicans dropping in vehicles - and overall I’m glad they were added.
The execution of the vehicle drops are something else entirely though
Had a CTF game on Deadlock as well where the enemy team captured the flag and were a point over us, the game gave them a Scorpion, the driver who got in it used it to defend their flag and get 30+ kills, and not even a minute after we destroyed it they got another Scorpion Tank.
Fortunately that one ended up being destroyed when both teams dogpiled on it to try and get it but we did end up losing regardless.
Much like the weapon spawns where one team will spawn with Hydras and the other Ravagers, I think the problem can be easily fixed by both vehicle and weapon spawns just being the same thing.

It can be exceedingly lopsided. There was a thread on this a while back.
I filed a bug report on this and suggested that drops should be symmetrical. If they get a tank, we get a tank, etc. etc.
That solves the issue IMHO.

I’ll admit; I only tolerated the idea at first, because I thought it would be a fun new representation of the previous (and comparatively well established) system.
My take? This is a “it wasn’t broken and they still fixed it” issue.

I like the idea, but the implementation was very unbalanced.
It’s pretty clear they either didn’t play test it enough or they ignored the play testers feedback on it.
Oh ya, the other thing I want changed is that if Aircraft spawn in, so does a Ranged Weapon. Trying to take down a Hornet or Banshee with an AR or a VK is just stupid.

To be fair, I think the main bit of feedback at the time concerning vehicles drops was for players to actually be able see power vehicles like the Scorpion Tank as they were mere myths with how rare they’d spawn.
And, well, we’re seeing them now

Yeah, it’s lame. Assault Rifle used to be decent against Ghosts and Banshees, taking a couple clips to down one if the enemy wasn’t careful and evasive. But now it’s literally impossible to take one down without electric weapons or lucky rockets. I’ve never taken out a ghost or tank with a single Skewer strike…

Yeah, I hate where they drop the vehicles. Fragmentation practically drops them at mid map, so teams just dogpile the vehicle and it gets destroyed immediately. Highpower is lopsided where the cliff base spawn can be sniped from the sniper spawn while waterfall base is safe.
Deadlocked is fine I guess.

They said they’d address unequal weapon spawns with S2 if I remember correctly. Hope the same applies to the vehicle drops (at least I can’t remember anything specific on that topic).
I’m actually with singular spawns mid-map - however in that case the anouncement should state that it’s a drop in neutral territory with ample lead time. This would make a case for teams trying to gain control of the mid-map section to actually get a hold of the tank and make good use of it. Hard to tell without playtesting though whether it would be possible to do this without it just getting insta-naded to oblivion.

BTB needs SYMMETRICAL SPAWNS
I think the randomization is cool HOWEVER, the map should be segmented so both teams starting areas have the same randomized weapons/drops on both sides
Also wtf does the little mongoose/threat sensor spawn area on deadlock not have the same number of wall racks? Who designed that and thought it was fair?
It would be best if the big, unique drops appeared in the middle of the map so both teams could fight for them. But no map is utilized this way: Deadlock has a sword. Fragmented has a powerup and the other map who’s names escapes me has a sniper/skewer. None of these are good enough.
I propose:
-Deadlock always has a tank drop in the center
-Fragmented has a UNIQUE power weapon in the middle (variant: like Red Sword or other campaign variants). I would say vehicle but the fact the center is indoors ruins this.

Skewer is underpowered. Rockets should home again on flying vehicles
Its the same way with grenades and weapons.
Enemy Team ~ All Dynamo and Plasma Grenades
My Team ~ Brute Spiker Grenades《~~~ Very Weak does extremely little to no damage.
Enemy Team ~ Battle Rifles at every spawn station.
My Team ~ Vk78 Commandos《~~ Very Jumpy extremely unstable recoil rifle.
Who wins ? The Enemy Team.
Big time balance issue here.

The worst part about vehicle drops IMO is the reduced strategy match to match, Too much chaos compared to H3 or Reach’s BTB Heavies mode. With both teams starting with balanced vehicle spawns and only penalized on the respawn if they still have the first spawned vehicle on the field.
I suppose an argument could be made that every BTB match of Heavies in H3 or Reach played out the same but I honestly think without the heavy vehicles being there from the start, it has a lot more to do with luck and which team has the higher hidden MMR than skill and strategy.
This is like a small scuff in the long list of issue this game has.
343 also thought 2,000 credits for bundles was also a good idea so you should understand what they were smoking when they were making the game.
Homing rockets were the best!
