Who likes H2's story better than H4's story?

I honestly think H2 is way better. I just love it better because it funner and better to play, I don’t like the story of Halo 4, When it was coming out I was excited. When it came out and I played the story, I just didn’t like how it came out.

That is a tough one to call. They are excellent for different reasons. In my mind, they are by far the two strongest stories.

I liked 2 because of its rock-star feel. It was funny, cheeky, and gave us a deep insight into the Covenant society. It obviously flipped the story on its head with the Ark, the Brute Uprising, the assassination of the Prophet of Regret. It was a cool story, and I personally loved the cliffhanger.

I liked 4 because it took a darker tone. We explored the mind of both Cortana and the Chief. We saw that despite their rock-star reputation, they were at their most vulnerable. They were flawed, but still incredible. I like the fact that the story turned on its head again with the Didact, and I like the fact that the whole story was tied to the terminal entries in Halo 3. What really gave the story punch wasn’t what happened on Earth, or at the composer, but it was the final moments that Chief and Cortana had together, alone, in space. 10 and a bit years worth of emotion came pouring out, of them as well as the player. On balance, I guess I preferred 4, but only because of what came before it.

For pure laughs, I don’t think anything comes close to Halo 2 though. Its the moment when the Chief only has to say “boo” to scatter the grunts…

both have good story but I have a history with the halo 2 story so I’m going with that one. I found the arbiter levels to be very compelling storywise

Halo 2 by a long shot. Halo 2 was this epic space journey, while Halo 4 is…well…sometimes I don’t even know. It’s a more personal story, but that isn’t exactly what Halo has always been so it was a mixed result longshot of a game. Halo 2 is great though even if it isn’t finished.

Halo 4? Not even close enough, 343. Halo 4 was pretty good, but Halo 2 beats it by 170%. Halo 5 Guardians even has the Elite models from Halo 2 Anniversary.

I personally like H4 slightly better because it gives off a more cinematic feel than H2. I thought in Halo 2 that the Chief gave off an op vibe, but in Halo 4 the chief showed that he had weakness and that he actually had emotions. Unlike in H2 where the chief barely talked at all. Halo 4 definitely goes deeper in the campaign than in H2.

I prefer Halo 2’s story by a significant amount, but Halo 4 had a decent story also. I liked how you could play as the Arbiter and fight alongside the Covenant, but also still play as Master Chief. The story was good as how the player was able to see the Covenant’s point-of-view on the war. Halo 4’s was interesting in how we got deeper into Cortana & Master Chief and how the player could see what happened after Master Chief destroyed the Ark. But overall, I prefer Halo 2’s story due to it’s Human & Covenant perspective(Master Chief & Arbiter), the build-up in the story, and the playability of the campaign missions.

Halo 2 any day. It has a great overall story which is why it is one of my fav games of all time. I found Halo 4’s story quite boring to be honest and the game itself felt like more of a nuisance to complete than it being enjoyable.

Halo 2 by far. Not that Halo 4 is short but the timeframe between start to finish felt quite short to me.

This.

I think you just took the words right out of my mouth. I really loved the story in H2 because when I became a fan of the Elites and the Covenant in general, H2 helped me learn more about their religion, what they wanted and the Arbiter’s backstory and especially how the Brutes turned on the Elites causing them to make a truce with the humans. I mainly got into Halo for the story and the Covenant. But when I played H4 I too found it really dark and was introduced to a whole new world of the Halo universe. Whenever the mention of the Forerunners came into place I was really curious about them and finally was introduced to them in H4. I learned how yes as spoken that Master Chief and Cortana make a great team but they do have weaknesses. A protagonist, even in a video game should have flaws. Then enter the Didact, a new villain, new plot, etc. and even though he didn’t seem as evil at first, compared to the Prophet of Truth he’s a total badass and you’ll find him even more evil once you find the terminals in the game. I almost cried when Cortana touched Chief for the first and last time then she disappeared. And in Halo 2 was just the start of something for me as a fan, like the story how we are exposed to the other side in the war as I said earlier and I liked that, there’s not really much of a deep explanation I can provide but I will add that it introduces you to the world of the Covenant which I was waiting to experience just like with the Forerunners.

So my answer, I really can’t choose, I have to go with both because both of these games had impact on me in a way.

I prefer Halo 2, that storyline signified a serious changing point in the Human-Covenant War…

I literally prefer every other Halo game’s story to Halo 4’s… It was very sub par in my opinion.

halo 2 is wayyy better H4 is pure -Yoink!-

I like Halo 2 a lot better. And personally I think that the Promethians are better left a mystery because I wasn’t really satisfied with the way they looked in Halo 4. Hopefully Halo 5’s campaign is better, having the Arbiter in it will help.

We are not discussing matchmaking you dirty sheep

I think Halo 2 is better. I remember being so excited to play it when I first got it, and it delivered. It was everything I hoped for after playing Halo CE for three years, so it just felt amazing. Halo 4 on the other hand had me hyped for months, and when it came out, despite the amazing writing between chief and cortana, I feel like it fell a bit flat. I think Halo 4 is an excellent game on it’s own, but as a Halo game, needs a lot of improvement.

Halo 2 for life

Halo 2 was better in storyline and campaign.

^this 100%.

It’s a tough one for me, I view both as important stories in the same historical line where both stories were both necessary to keep the story fluid. I just can’t rate one more important than the other. Hell, I love the mechanics of both the same as well… If it were life or death to make a decision I’d go with H2.

halo 2 is the best man in all ways for me, but te halo 4 have a great history 2
