I am merely a fanboy of the great Limitz I serve him gracefully, lets get to the topic.
This query is not about who you think is necessarily the best Halo Wars player (as people have different opinions on that) but who you like the most or look up to.
Things to consider, players who are great at the game but rarely talk crap and are nice, a good example of this is Mighty Icy, a unique and challenging brute to beat in 1s but in party chat one of the nicest guys you will encounter, a bad example would be Swat Merk (no explanation needed). Another good example would be a player who doesn’t abuse glitches, now most of the top players pre 2013 did not abuse cryo canny glitch or pad glitch as a lot of folks had respect for other players, these days especially in 1s the cryo canny glitch is abused and in 2s I see pad glitching a lot, you think at this point in the game’s life cycle players would have more respect for the game not less respect. For example King of Reason or King or Turrets or the “Why Money? Guy” abuses the cryo canny glitch, and honestly I would blame Marcostyle for setting the trend for that in 2013, it is cheating to use 3 tanks to kill 12 scorch wraiths, there is no excuse if you do it you exploited to win and lost a lot of self respect in the process.
I am getting off topic here my question is who if you had to pick for friendly attitude, skill level and playing the game fairly would you pick as your go to guy or girl (Slowmotion fans?) for me all around fun to play with and great skill level especially a few years back I go with Creative God, but Mighty Icy is a close 2nd.
Played with a lot of people I could do a selection for different modes but I want to know your thoughts!
There were loads of really friendly and respectable players in this game. Studmuffin, bb2010, Sl Loboz, Buster nzl, Mighty Icy like you said, etc. Come to think of it, the high-level 1v1 community as a whole was actually pretty great back when Halo Wars was competitive. It’s pretty funny/ironic that you’re a fanboy of xLimitz haha, I always remembered him losing to everyone and coming to the forums to hurl insults and make tons of excuses.

He did, honestly not been around for 3 years though, most of the only good players these days play customs on Random All Deen (Fort Deen) which is so tedious, finding a game online gives you that boost to try and lots of competitive friendships were made online for me.
That being said met some nastiness too, but it does look like the “newer” generation of Halo Wars players have little self respect let alone respect for other players.
I only worship Limitz as he is one of the few oldies around and it is nostalgic too me.

More like every time I would lose a game it would be posted on the forums because beating me was an anomaly. I won’t even bother biting on ‘insults and excuses’ it was all a scheme in how I became the most dominant player from 11-13. Sometimes you have to force recognition without respect.

My Favorite has to be ‘Kangaroo Love’! He risen from nowhere, and shot to the top!
Managed to carry me up to a TS 46 back in the day too!
FJ was good. Not the best, but one of the earlier good players to actually make helpful vids and try to help newbs out.
My favorite is “i run wars ftw”. He was a mentor and a friend for a very long time, one of the calmest, nicest, and most widely respected high level players. Also a big shout out to Cero Espada, XBL Eradicator, Pacmaniak, Hagstring, and all of the others I played with for so many years. HW has been dead for too long, hopefully HW2 is everything we hoped it would be when we all placed our old disk safely in its case for the last time.

Cero Espada was my main duo partner, we climbed damn good on the 3rd and 4th leaderboard reset! Messing up CCG all day! We were sitting at a good 1:1 ratio against X limitz too and Co too!
