Very annoying there are people that drive banshees like battering rams.
Any word if 343i is going to make banshees take damage or something for doing this unsavory behavior?

Well considering their weapons aren’t amazing and get shot down in the air, it kinda makes sense being low to the ground alot mowing people down.
They DO take damage over it. That is why it kills them. Hence the term suicide banshee.
I only sack a Banshee like that when I’m already ‘dead’. Once I’m on fire I might as well do some nasty damage to something. Normally on a map like Ragnarok that means trying to flank the enemy Mantis if possible and suicide slamming into him. With a well enough timed Banshee bomb on impact I can do a decent amount of damage if his shields are popped.
It’s both a legit tactic AND an ability in Halo Wars.
Due to the massive nerf on the Banshee the only thing that actualy rewards kills is the splatter.
I only use the Banshee for this purpose. I get in, fly to the enemy spawn, and crash into there base.

It may not always kill them, but I’ve attempted splatters before, and grazing a wall, or grinding against the ground for a second or two will drain your shields or blow off your wings. It’s a legit tactic, and if you’re letting yourself get rammed by Banshees, you deserve to get rammed by Banshees.

Lol Banshee Zeroes. But yuh, I have no idea what you’re talking about OP. Banshees go down pretty easily. 4 Snipes/4 Promethean Sniper Rounds= one dead banshee. It’s a little ridiculous.

OK, I just won’t respawn since all they do is sweep the base to spawn kill. Guess anyone that respawns deserves to get rammed. Thanks bro. Nice try though.

I’ve never been successfully splattered by a Banshee, soooo… You must be doing something wrong. Just be aware of your surroundings. When you see that Banshee-shaped red spot on your radar, hide or get ready to jump.
When I read the title I instantly thought of my last game. Guy hijacked me so I rammed my Banshee into the downed pelican and blew us both to bits.
I’ll only death dive in a banshee If: I’ve taken too much damage and have no other option but death OR I want to piss off someone shooting at me by ramming into a tree on Ragnarok, thus, destroying the banshee and leaving me alive, preventing the guy from getting a kill off of me.
