First off: Putting downloadable content (digital content), and allowing it to be sold/traded is completely dishonorable.
Secondly, whoever decided to send out millions of codes, and than decided to blame “their fanbase” for not receiving the codes is an absolute idiot. (I’m sure Microsoft customer support staff loves hearing from thousands of angry gamers)
Third, whoever decided to release the maps first for those who did not buy LE/Season Pass is an idiot.
Fourth, whoever let this “glitch” get by where people could download maps for free…is an idiot.
Well you are kind of mixing up a whole bunch of different factors under one tree there
Firstly, when it comes to additional content distribution such as Map Packs, the responsibility for that distribution is MS, they set the price, they issue the content from their Marketplace servers, they decide when it gets put LIVE
The problems yesterday, was the fault of MS to begin with, they failed to activate, yet again, a games season Pass rules so those who owned the pass could get the content for free as per the pass. This failed, and took over ten hours to rectify. It is also the fault of 343i, who took 6 hours to respond to reports that something was wrong.
MS are also at fault for some being able to download the Crimson Map Pack for free last night, 343i to blame because as soon as it happened, multiple threads appeared on these forums, and seemingly no moderator was around to stop it or advise MS what was happening
Specialisations on the other hand, I blame 343i for. They chose to do a promotion that excluded the whole EU region and UK from qualifying for this promotion but gave it for ten other regions. They poorly planned and executed this promotion when what they should have done, was just have a title update and unlock all specialisations for EVERYONE in EVERY region, instead, they made a mess of it and let down thousands of users
