Who is Holding Halo back?

So I was watching Halo Online game play and it got me wondering about how go halo 5 could have been and could have looked. If you notice there is a lack of detail in the maps. So who/what is holding halo back is it 343 or Xbox one? Each halo stepped up visuals from the last but Halo 5 doesn’t look much different graphics wise to halo 4 other then higher FPS higher resolution and more effects.

A lot of it is the boring map texture. They play great, but look so boring. I don’t like how uncreative they have been. The breakout maps look cool, but we don’t have more maps like that. I wouldn’t mind playing on more maps like the breakout maps, but with higher levels, and even vehicles for BTB. I still think a waterworks remake is needed, and more variety in maps overall.

As far as another thing holding the game back, a major problem is the lack of love for campaign.
Campaign theater mode.
Campaign Scoring (team and FFA)
Campaign matchmaking (Heroic difficulty, because achievements)
Campaign commendations. (Enemies, vehicles, weapons[including hidden legendary weapons] etc.)
Experience towards rank.
REQ points earned in campaign.
And some special armor or skins for beating it Legendary.
Bandana Skull for the heck of it. (Besides, they invented it for Halo remakes, but didn’t include it in their own game?)

the lack of detail is a mix of Forge components and “keeping it pretty”

the “keeping it pretty” means maintaining a 60FPS and high particle count while reducing the overall detail of the map and environment

60fps and 1080p is holding it back.

the Xbox one is holding them back I think and ^

EXP towards rank would be nice for Heroic/Legendary only and increased multipliers for skulls

REQ points in campaign probably wont be a thing due to losing money/population in PvP

consoles will hold back games indefinitely

this isnt a PC vs console war post

this is a legitimate argument

consoles are made to be mass produced and accessible because 90% of the population cannot afford a $1200 gaming PC

if consoles were made to the same specs as gaming PCs then they would cost 5x more than they do now and further alienate the casual fanbase

The CEOs and CFOs who only care about making as much money as possible and not being a top awesome gaming experience… that is who.

As much as i love the halo story, if matchmaking is going to be this bad then ffs cut the whole campaign. I play Halo matchmaking 100x over campaign anyways.
What is really holding back the main titles right now though? Is it 343? No, its that theyre making remake titles inbetween. They should just cut halo 6 and only make a halo 3 remake the next 3 years.

But I makes the game look like crap its like playing play BO3 on xbox 360 it looks like halo 5 does but on xbox one it has so much more detail to everything and I believe but unsure that it plays a 60fps

halo 5 runs fine none the less

Just saying, You wouldnt have to suffer the whole ‘detail vs framerate’ if Halo were on PC.

You know, Cuz you could have both and be happy and shot noobs while the game looks sexcellent.

The Xbox as a whole is holding Halo back from true potential.

The have more this enough $ that is not a excuse.

Many other Xbone games look great, better than Halo 5.

It’s Halo 5’s engine and design that holds it back. If you imagine you have a ported version of Halo 4, that runs on the xbone at 60fps and 1080p, and split screen. What could optimisation of that engine and a full 3 years worth of work making a game to look better than that, where Halo 4 was ported in a year or less along side 3 other games.

I personally would have been ok with Halo 4 campaign level of graphics in campaign and MP, as well as keep previous features like Split Screen, maybe even improved or upped it to 4 player split screen for every mode. Especially as the net gain in Halo 5 over Halo 4 MCC is marginal.

Didn’t have the problem on xbox or 360 with older games I mean yeah they only played at 30 fps but really you dont need anything higher then 30 everything else just makes the game smoother I mean I play most of my PC games locked at 30fps even though i can run 60 - 120 + unless its something like CS-GO then I keep it unlocked.

i just the lack of frames and pixels the Xbox can handle. if it had a higher fps like 80 or higher and higher pixels like 1440p, the maps and game could look much better. you can blame the xbox for it.

Yeah See I find the detail in halo 5 = to detail in BO3 on xbox 360 what is with that? Its 343 fault that they are trying to make a console do something it cant. Its like porting halo 3 as it is to the old Xbox

hey can someone tell me if halo 5(or any Xbox one game in general) look better on a pc monitor. I’m just wondering since my friend mentioned this once

I blame 343 because 3rd party games look better on xbox one then halo even titan fall looks better
