Seeing that the serial number is the same as Cortana’s except for the final digit (instead of a 9, it’s a 0), some believe this is a newer version of Cortana. But I disagree. I think it’s an older version of Cortana. As if Halsey gave Chief the earliest version, as if they never met before. That would be interesting, nostalgic, and compelling. To me at least.
Some people theorize that it could be Durandal from the Marathon games.

Only 2 of Dr Halseys scans survived, Cortana and Kalmiya. I’m not sure if Kalmiya was destroyed, I read all the books but I read a lot, and I’m a little fuzzy on the subject. Dr Halsey was ordered to destroy Kalmiya, I can’t remember if she destroyed her or shut her down. If she exists she could be used.

I don’t think it was it but I would love to have a story that reflects those events but in a modern context. Like history that repeats itself.
I imagine that they’re going to fully commit to the degradation of Cortana and eventually kill her off, but everybody likes Jen Taylor too much for her to go away entirely, so the new chip’s going to be some MacGuffin that allows the writers to retcon Halo 5’s miserable story and reset everything to how it should be. It’s a shame because Halo 4’s ending was poignant and a fitting send-off to her character… and then they ruined it.

It was a map to all of the Forerunner constructs in the galaxy. They further elaborate upon it in the comics, and Halsey and Jul 'Mdama use it to have some crazy adventures alongside Palmer and Thorne, but it never makes its way back into the main story (like the rest of the awesome lore).

At least that’s probably the easiest way to fix all the damage that H5 did to the story, short of declaring it non-canon (which they should do but won’t).

That was the Janus key well some of it. Had potential to be a cool story but in halo escalation Brian reed wrote himself into a corner as he’s like to do and rushed a truly awful ending to the arc.

If it isn’t her I doubt it’s a fake. We already know she’s only a fragment who was able to repair herself in the domain so if there’s another fragment it’ll likely be that the one on the domain is a portion purged with the logic plague as she should have it after high charity granted mendicant was exposed for longer but the bias ancilla are super advanced despite the crap in escalations Janis hey ark where Halsey can hack one. I assume there was another fragment left existing on the didacts ship prob made it to the comppsers forge and then to zeta.
I hope it’s either cobbie smulders or 343 be cool to have his destination to find the life worker be bastion and be reunited with chief. About time they pay off the “why would hesitate to what you have already done?” In a game and not the forerunner trilogy.
