Who is Chief retrieving at the end of the trailer?

Could it be Medicant Bias or 343 Guilty Spark? I’m surprised nobody here is talking about this.

I’m pretty sure it’s a Cortana fragment.
343 know they messed up with the Created thing so they will try and pull on our feels by bringing her back but good this time.

I’m so effing hyped for this game!

I don’t necessarily know if we can say it’s a good or bad Cortana, but it’s at least very likely Cortana.

It’s probably Cortana. To say you hear her voice and how they make a great team. Seems obvious.

Suspect it’s a new Cortana. Since it’s going for a ‘soft reboot’, they seem to want to make a game to remind us of classic Halo…I think Hasley will create a new AI since doubt 343i will just make the ‘current’ Cortana good again since she even states that they might make another but they’d be different people. I have a theory they will have a plan to defeat ‘evil’ Cortana and it will go completely wrong for them, which is why Chief is in space with no sign of the Infinity.

I think it’s safe to assume its Cortana but the trailer was nothing more than a giant tease. All we can do is speculate! I’d like to think there’s a way to retrieve Cortana and stop/reverse rampancy but with the way things ended with Halo 5: Guardians, it doesn’t seem likely. Hopefully we’ll hear some more between now and E3 2020.

Good point, but why is he collecting her from the Control room then?

Something I need to even remind myself about though is what a trailer is… It’s nothing more than a tool developers use to build the HYPE. we might not even get these points in the finished game.

I remember being sucked into Hunt the Truth and marketing from other franchises.

Maybe it’s just that I’m 34 and jaded

I think it’s meant to echo what was previously done. Maybe a possible trap from the ‘original’ Cortana while noticing she’s probably been replaced, because of this she retaliates against the chief in anger.

Yeh I don’t think E3’s ever really show off a true representation. I still remember seeing game-play in Halo 2 E3 stuff…that never existed in the released game.

I was in the same situation with Hunt the Truth but that was supposed to be canon so I feel like I was mislead with that since nothing about the series seemed related to H5.

100% 343 Guilty Spark

I remember that E3 presentation and -Yoink- myself with the hype. Seeing docs about the troubles they went through to get tha out and I’m amazed they even did it…
Hunt the truth was the best piece of marketing I have ever seen and knowing what we know now about Microsoft interfering I hope this doesn’t happen again. Although I would like another HtT series or for the last one to be relevant some how.

Season 3 please!

I hope it’s not another -Yoink!- index key.

It’s gonna be a new Cortana, there’s virtually no doubt of that in my mind. The question will just be where she comes from - did Halsey create another one by (illegally) cloning herself again? Did Halsey hang on to some “backup” copies of Cortana that we conveniently never heard of before? Is this one pulled from a Forerunner system where a fragment/copy of her was saved from some previous adventure? That’ll remain to be seen.
