Who, in your opinion, is the richest character in the Halo story?

And I don’t mean money or wealth…

For me that goes to Cortana. I feel that almost all of the stories flesh her out the most.

I’m not a religious man, but I know what the aliens like

The first that comes to my mind is the Arbiter.

But there are a lot to choose from, right?

I’m gonna go with the arbiter because of everything he goes through in halo 1 and 2.

Mendicant Bias and the Timeless One/Gravemind.

Medicant Bias, because none of the Halo-Master Chief storyline would’ve happened if it weren’t for him…

Imagine… if he hadn’t defected to the Flood then the Forerunners may have indeed won against the Flood without the need to fire Halo.

Exactly, he is an important key to the Halo Universe.

But does that make him a complex and well developed character? I agree that he was one of the most important. And his decision is a hinge pin that the whole Halo story swings on, but is he a rich, life like character?

He is a complex character, but as we may know he is not that well developed becuase we do not know much about him, and his experiences with the Flood.

Yes, yes he is. In the Terminals, Cryptum and the IRIS campaign he is a very interesting character. The Halo universe revolves around him and his actions, it’d be a crime to leave him undeveloped.

Then he isn’t a rich character. In this context, rich means well developed. That means that the character seems like a real person. You begin to know them, and think of them as a real person, or entity.

For me, I’m going to go with Thel 'Vadam because of our journey with him through Halo 2.
But second would be Halsey, especially since after the journal came out. I liked her a lot more after that.

I would have to say Dr. Halsey. Her actions may have saved humanity but kidnapping children and drafting them into the military and age 6… that is some dark stuff man.

Hey, but doing so saved humanity. :stuck_out_tongue:

But at that moment, how did she know humanity needed saving? She was doing it to stop a civil war sure, but Humanity wasn’t at risk yet.

Dr. Catherine Halsey. Although, I think there will be plenty of new interesting characters in Glasslands, as characters are Karen Travis’s specialty.

Exactly I mean it did save humanity but does that make doing the wrong thing any less wrong? To me this ethical question when dealing with Halsey’s decisions is what makes her character more interesting.

I think she could still qualify as a war criminal though. She’s done some -Yoinked!- up stuff.

I just wished she got more game time. Ah well. Cortana, for me, still isthe more developed character though. With a close second being the Arbiter. But nothing beats Jen Taylor’s voice. Not even tank.
