Who hopes that there is trick jumping?

I think that trick jumping was one of the small things that made Halo great. Halo Reach lacked in trick jumping spots in my opinion.

If anyone remembers Guardian from Halo 3, you know how fun it was to trick jump. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHnSrEYzWJI

The increased jump height in Halo 4 is a good sign, so hopefully 343 includes secret locations that can only be found by trick jumping.

I’d take super bounces too.

I kinda want Brink-styled movement…

The closest I came in Reach was jumping off the Spire with the core and surviving. Once or twice I managed to capture the core without the elites knowing that I had moved it off the spire. Nothing much in Reach in comparison to that vid though. More trick jumping would be good in Halo 4.

I used to love trick jumping too but the thing is that the moment they introduced the jet pack trick jumping meant nothing. As a fun challenge to your self sure but matchmaking trick jumping is useless now.

Whoops, thought you were referring to superbouncing.

> I kinda want Brink-styled movement…

Brink showed us a totally unique way to navigate over random rubble and debris in your way - it also showed us that if you want a game to flow properly it is best not to have random rubble and debris in your way. Not like Brink please.

It was great in HALO 3 i would like to see it in HALO 4 .

ye these things have always been an integral part of halo design

i miss all the sick jump ups and slide jumps you used to be able to do so much… He didn’t even do the best jump :frowning: theres a nice slide jump from smg spawn to snipe 3

true… for a moment nostalgia made me forget about the mess that is armor abilities.

I’d like stuff like this, it’s not an exploit, it’s just using your skill and knowledge of the environment to your advantage.

They also need to stop blocking every ledge on every map off like they’ve been doing recently. Campaign too, needs to have more exploration outside the map areas. Also, lose the 10 second countdown death barriers, they are annoying as hell. Put either physical barriers or just have the area open.

But keep the 10 second barriers in Forge, they can be useful for custom maps, eg spawning areas you don’t want players to stay in.

Yeah he didn’t do a few of my favorites there. I remember jumping to the top of the map during customs, and no one could find me.

That’s was interesting to watch. I don’t think I could ever do that.

Anyway, even though I don’t “trick jump” myself, I don’t see a problem with it being in Halo 4.

Trick jumps take skill. They can’t be in a Halo game.

Think.*

Seems legit

I popped in Halo 3 and was practicing my trick jumping on Construct in MM the other day, and didn’t realize until that point how much Reach’s opportunity for trick jumps is lacking, because of both the Jetpack and map design. I start to miss trick jumps whenever I play Reach.

Trick jumping is awesome, and I’d love to see it make a comeback in Halo 4, as long as it doesn’t break map boundaries or give a player an unfair advantage. Trick jumping is something the player creates after a game is released; developers don’t necessarily plan or design maps with trick jumping in mind.

As for super bouncing? That was amazingly fun back in the Halo 2 days, but I hope to god I never see it again.

i dont think those places where ever intentional, and I was/am in a group called HLG (hidden league gaming [or gamers {cant remember}] we abused grenade jumping in H3 especially on the pit
