who here wants blood gulch back

halo reach brought it back but personaly i think it was crap. sniper was way to op on reach for that map and then it just looked bad. just green? coag and the gulch were awesome looking compared to the ugly reach version

so who still wants a good blood gulch back for halo 4? maybe it would be cool if the sniper worked like it did in halo 1 or 3

IMO Valhalla > Blood Gulch due to:
-Hill in the middle avoids base sniping
-Great weapon placement

  • perfect balance of stealth, vehicle and infantry action.
  • more exciting then a bland box-canyon

I’d rather have a new version of the box canyon with two bases map idea rather than just stick with the old again rather than remake Blood Gultch or Valhalla. How is 343 Industries supposed to impress us if the game is filled with remakes rather than utilizing the talent at hand to make something greater?

the thing is blood gulch is halo’s main map. its an icon. rvb’s home. they do different things but halo need blood gulch. But personally i want the Halo 2 coagulation one instead

If there’s a proper map creator in Halo 4, it would be easy to make.

not quit you have hills and trees and unless we get a full map editor, probably pc import console mode then there is no way to make it. it might be a halo 4 forge world design.

Honestly, enough with the Blood Gulch remakes it was in every Halo game:

Halo 1-Blood Gulch
Halo 2-Coagulation
Halo 3-Valhalla
Reach-Hemorrhage

yes but remember 343 isnt going to probably care alot since they are new so the only way is for a halo pc full editor since we wont get as good of a far cry two on console. remember dsic space.

Look, I’ve been playing Halo since it was released in 2001. Truth be told, I’m sick of Blood Gulch.

I’d prefer that 343i invested time into making original maps that work with the game’s sandbox than some clunky map that doesn’t flow right at all. Look at the remakes in Reach. They play nothing like they did originally.

And randomrosso93 the reason it didnt work was 100 different things wrong they never should have done. Halo 1 had banshees, halo reach does not. Halo 1 didnt have challenges and commedations so no one fought over a stupid weapon and played the game. also the spawning was different so you couldnt be spawn killed in Halo 1.

They wouldn’t. And we’d be in the same situation we’re in now; we’d have a boring, stale map that is fundamentally flawed to try and compensate for new gameplay circulating around matchmaking.

no not at all. i have written in in a million post and it like 3 paragraphs long and i just dont want to go through the hassle fo typing it all again or going to find it on B.net. the mechanics can work. either way Chal and Comm should be removed as that was flawed. and make it like halo 2’s coagulation would fit a better version since its made better

“The mechanics can work”? How do you know about the sandbox mechanics in Halo 4? You don’t.

Like I said at the start of this thread: Reusing a map that was designed for 10 year old gameplay is just stupid. In all honesty, 343i are better off designing their own maps in accordance with what ‘works’ in Halo 4.

Simple as that.

lets see halo wars halo cea. they were helping or making a game that was not too much work. tryign to make halo 4 entirely you know that they arent going to waste the time to had huge things to all 6 game modes. they will do some small stuff and focus mainly on SP and sell it. the programmers arent even going to go in and do the coding for every new tool option. so i say let them be lazy, its fine i undferstand its a samller group with less vet bungie devs and they are using halo 4 modified reach engine. im not saying its bad but its going to be hard. hell IW needed help with MW3 they had to get two 2 dev companies too assist adn make the same game pretty much with no new graphic changes. so i say just simply convert tool and the polygon abilities of forge LIKE maya and 3ds max so we can get in make our maps and import like we do with other things with flashdrive when working with console so we can get what we want in forge but 343 wont have to spend alot of time doing because i highly doubt they are spending that much time to give use a full map editor. i bet it will be the same excuse bungie game us why there was no forgeable FF. “We didnt have time and didnt feel like making it”. its fine i know having to take everyones ideas and trying to make it into forge with disc space room is not possible and time consuming so a simple pc program will work and both will be happy. also people think 343 wont even do a beta which will be bad.
