RocketSloth’s latest video mentioned Jervalin’s H2 run and that there is a small group currently routing Halo 3, and that one of them is talking about trying the entire trilogy.
He made no mention of combat evolved, though… he implied that someone has completed it. I’m currently in the middle of this challenge, and while I don’t particularly care if I’m first, I’ve definitely searched for a deathless run and came up empty.
If this run exists, can someone point me to it? The WR speedrun is not deathless.
After a scouring for a bit I haven’t found anything either. If someone has completed CE LASO deathless it’s most likely unrecorded.

That’s what I figured… and honestly, I’m not sure it’s ever happened. Jervalin even went on a rant where people kept telling him they figure some kid in Asia probably quietly beat H2 LASO decades ago and it’s total bull. I was in the community back then and what we called “mythic” was just a meme. People tried it but nobody seriously sat for 6-8 hours on single runs and the meta has to be discovered by someone first. We weren’t even sure all the levels were possible, let alone without dying. No one is one-shotting any Halos using Silver’s guides, which is how most people complete LASO.
I’ll try my best to complete CE deathless and post it early 2023. At very least I’ll have a segmented run where each IL was done in one go soon. T&R is CE’s Gravemind where runs go to die.
A segmented LASO deathless run sounds like a good place to start.
I’m pretty pessimistic about the whole endeavor. Maybe some useful information can be gleamed if the run is done on PC with EAC off using cheats? Something to give the player feedback about when an enemy is aiming at them or has been alerted to them might be a useful tool. It’s probably OP to track enemies through walls but using that kind of info about how enemies behave might be helpful in a normal run without cheats. Just an idea.

I wasn’t optimistic at first either, but I spent the summer routing off stream and found safe ways through all of the missions. I’d say I have a 50/50 chance of getting through most levels on any given run. Some levels are 100% free and others are a little harder, but it’s just a matter of lining the odds up into the god run.
TNR is the run killer, and I used to think it was the thing that made CE impossible. It used to be 50/50 if I’d even make it inside, but now that’s free for me, so it seems that with enough grind, it’s possible. Belly fight also used to be like 5%, but I’ve gotten it beaten consistently now.
I used a controller on the Xbox. I’ve done these levels enough times to usually have a good idea what all the enemies are doing. Manipulating their AI is a key part of this kind of run.
