Who gets to provide feedback for the flights?

I’m curious if anyone knows why only certain people are being asked for feedback from the flights. I played both flights, mostly in the hopes of having my voice heard, and never got sent a survey.

If you were sent a survey, are you allowed to share with us the nature of some of those questions?

Does anyone have any insight into why only certain people are being surveyed? It seems silly to include so many people in the flight and not at least ask them all to weigh in on some yes/no questions or scale of 1-5 type stuff.

I suppose it’s easy to think that the flight is to see how the gameplay is received, when it’s probably more accurately just to fix bugs and dial in gameplay. It seems clear that no big changes will be coming this close to launch, even on hugely controversial things like the coating system or the FOF outlines.

I too wish I would have gotten a survey, but I think they were going for a smaller sample size so that they can actually dig into the feedback with the resources they have.

I imagine it’s more useful than just a broad rate this 1-5 type answer survey.

that being said I too would be interested to know the nature of the questions.

There’s tens of thousands of people in the flights, it’s just not plausible to analyse qualitive data on that scale effectively. Rating things on a scale can be useful, but not really at this stage of the process. It would be nice for the community to “feel” more concretely that their feedback would be heard, but even that kind of data needs to be condensed, cleaned up, transformed and then analysed, and it isn’t really worth the effort from 343.

The surveys are sent out at random, and kind of extra inclusion criteria like time played could just bias the results. I received a survey from the first flight, it included questions on just about everything. I opted to answer everything, as there are extra tiers of optional extra questions you can fill in. I did it in a fair amount of detail and it took me over 90 minutes to complete, so that gives you an idea of the scale of the data they’re collecting from the survey. There are some “rate” questions where you vote on a list how you feel, but that is always accompanied by questions asking you why you felt like that, and what kind of thing you might want to improve the system. I think across the survey they covered just about every topic you can think of, from maps, spawning, UI, sandbox, battle pass, store front, weapon balance, everything. It was quite comprehensive.

343 have said they are also monitoring the forums. Your best bet is to put some feedback in the stickied threads, I think every post in those will be looked at in some way. They also have people monitoring sentiment across the forums, reddit and other social media, but obviously they can only see so much. If you’re active on these forums, it’s a safe bet at least some of your comments and ideas have been seen and heard in some capacity.

Hope this answers you questions!

Everyone, just depends where you put it.
