Hi,
my question is who gets the boss kill?
Sometimes i smack everthing i have on a boss and dont get the kill and sometimes i just get the last hit with a sniper and receive the kill. but it also happend already that i shooted the boss he killed me and i reveived the boss kill although my mates killed him
My understanding with legendary bosses is that your team has to do a certain amount of damage to the boss to be eligible for the kill but it comes down to who gets the last shot on him after that.
It seems like you need to do a fair amount of damage to the boss (and your team has to kill it if you don’t get the last hit) to count or you have to do the last shot.
The answer to this question is very interesting and complex and depends heavily on the scenario.
If all 12 of your team is shooting the boss to death but 1 guy from the other team is also shooting it the other team always gets the kill. If you spawn a tank and unload on the boss while another guy takes potshots with a pistol, the pistol will kill the boss. If it’s a flying boss your team will get it down to 5% HP then it will fly directly over the other team’s armory to give them pity points.
However, if you shot the boss a few times then died, the boss will count as your kill 30 seconds later.
So the proper formula for getting boss kills appears to be:
- Use weak weapons
- Let the other team do all the work
- Lure Baron Sroam away from the other team with free candy
The only exception to these rules is Warden Eternal. No one ever gets credit for killing Warden Eternal (but the other team WILL get the points for it).
Sometimes I don’t even shoot the boss, I’m at the other end of the map, and the medal and message pops up that I killed them. GG
To answer your question though, it’s almost always last shot, or if you shoot them and die, sometimes you get the kill.
Thanks guys!

I know right, my service record has me credited for 3 Warden kills but I’ve recorded myself killing him with the medal coming up more than 3 times

Thats funny I’ve killed him 4 times (including a very legit one last night where it actually popped up and said it and we won the game, and I have never been credited on my service record. Not once. So i agree, With Adversity, killing the warden is a myth.

Damn, if that isn’t the most amount of truth I have ever read in a single post.
You foinking nailed it. Everyone can go home now.
It should be that you get the boss kill when you deal the most damage to it (Because when I go fight a boss, there is always one guy who comes out of nowhere and gets the final shot).
I think it’s actually quite similar to the way SMITE dishes out assists. If you did any damage and are in combat with the boss when it dies, you generally get a “Boss Takedown”. The difference being I think H5 has a damage threshold, as opposed to there not being one in SMITE.
With Adversity pretty much got it on point.
As a general rule of thumb, the system just randomly dishes out the awards. Rarely does it work as intended; I myself have been credited boss kills when I have dealt 0 damage.
