Who else wants the DMR to return?

I apologize in advance if someone has already made this thread.
Anyways, who else hopes that halo infinite will have the DMR?
I definitely hope that it returns, it was such an interesting, and fun gun.

I am a DMR mark, so I definitely hope it comes back. That said, I know it can be overpowered in some situations. I’ll have my fingers crossed.

I always liked the DMR…it felt basically like a long range pistol. I believe the “new” DMR is probably that Commando AR now

Always loved the DMR. Would like to see it given some love in Infinite.

I’ll take the DMR as a UNSC precision option over halo 5’s magnum any day!!!

I remember halo 3’s BR was incredible to use and my favorite…then Reach came, and while being different and not what I was expecting, the DMR was also a great weapon (minus the insane amount of bloom)

Also remember being sooooo hyped for Halo 4, to be able to use the BR and DMR as your choice of precision weapon in the same game had me so stoked, and well…we all know how that turned out :joy:

I hope it comes back as well. I also prefer the look of Reach’s version a lot more than halo 4/5’s. Something about it in the newer Halo’s had a very generic-gun-game weapon look to it where in my opinion Reach’s was very unique and tactical looking. Hope the BR, DMR, and Commando all fill a unique role in the sandbox.

I don’t really like the DMR but as long as I have the choice to not use it too much I hope the DMR fans get what they want.

I like the DMR for the most part. It’s a good mid-long range weapon when evaluated in isolation. The problem though is that it overlaps heavily with the BR when both appear in the same game. If the DMR and BR can be more appropriately separated in the sandbox, then I’d love to have both. But if they share too similar roles, then I’d prefer we have one or the other.

The DMR is definitely my favorite gun besides the Battle Rifle so seeing it return would be nice

Yes! As Reach being my first game and even though the weapons balance in the game was terrible the Dmr is a live saver for the Exodus mission and just felt nice to use.

The DMR looks cool and all but is useless in the sandbox the way it has been implemented, being a copy BR with slightly longer range isn’t good enough to me to warrent it’s inclusion. As a whole the gun is pretty lame, it’s legit just a modern day rifle, compared to the BR and Magnums that had some shred of originality. The best way to bring the DMR back would to give it no RRR at close range and lower the fire rate so that it’s very difficult to use at short and medium range, that way it won’t overlap with the BR and will serve as a long range precision weapon ( and they shouldn’t increase the damage to give it a similar TTK, that is one of the most annoying aspects of 343 is that every weapon feels the same due to how they all kill in the exact same time, the DMR should take a while to kill someone considering your at sniper range against them ).
I wouldn’t bat an eye if it was removed, to me it serves no purpose that other weapons don’t but better.

Agreement

DMR is already confirmed. My wife bought me a Master Chief figure from Target, and on the back of the package was Tanaka holding a DMR. There you have it.

Yes, in halo 5 the BR and DMR were pretty much interchangeable which diminishes the DMRs usefulness, if the DMR was made into more of a medium to long range, while the BR retains its close to medium range, that may solve the issue of them overlapping in use.

I loved my DMR I absolutely clapped with it me and my friends would play I private game of infection and I would always clap them from across the map with the DMR. I always hit them in the head. When they said ok no more dmr I used the needle rifle and moved onto every precision weapon in game.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I mean. The DMR in H4 actually went a long way towards differentiating itself from the BR, though it wasn’t perfect. The DMR felt like a nerfed sniper rifle that was useful at medium range, which is basically exactly what it’s meant to be. The BR on the other hand was decent at medium range while being very effective at short range. If that gap between the two can be widened a bit more to make them more distinct, the two weapons would be a perfect combination to carry around on a massive open-world map like we’re seeing in Infinite.

The DMR is Halo now. It is as natural as the AR.

If it returns I hope it’s like the Lightrifle a 3 shot kill but shots very slow precise shots for medium and long range.

Well, to be honest, the DMR was basically the CE Magnum with a different model. And since I have always preferred the CE Magnum over the DMR (although I will admit that the DMR is cool). I would prefer for the TRUE magnum and not that pip-squeak that was shown in the Infinite gameplay to return instead of the DMR. Although I think that it would be really cool if you could equip a skin for the magnum that made it into a DMR.

DMR doesn’t need to be in the game if the Battle Rifle, Carbine or LightRifle are also in the game. It’s just useless map bloat that can take the place of a more functionally unique weapon.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the commando kills in PVP. Halo has never had a gun like that before, as far as i can remember

Yeah, I wonder if it’ll be considered a power weapon, because of it basically being a fully automatic DMR.
