Man, I just played Halo Anniversary and picked up an Oveshield, and I thought to myself: Damn, this red square looks awesome!, it’s one of those things that I always thought were so original and simple. One of those things that made Halo so unique.
And ever since then, Overshields and Active camo have only been pickups in multiplayer, but no only that, but they are now big spheres instead of that awesome red square and that neat blue triangle.
I’d really like to see this pickups back in Halo 4. I’d really do. And you?
I really hope they bring them back as well. This time make the overshield have the visual representation of an overshield like it was in Halo 2, and Halo 3 instead of seeing a player with a fire trail in the back of them like in Reach.
Also, have the invis player completely invisible even when they move around the map.
Yes, removes AAs and bring back power ups! The smaller powerups from CE/H2 were better because they didn’t block lines of sight and could be naded from platforms.
I would rather replace the old looks of the over shield / invisibility. ( Including halo 1 version and Halo 3 version ) , and replace them with something that actually looks like it belongs in the multiplayer map. It takes me out of the experience when I’m running around on an ancient alien structure, and then in a corner there is a ran din red ball that gives you a power up.

The only reason Bungie made them into big orbs was to make them look different from Equipment in Halo 3, so that you didn’t get mixed up.
I hope they do bring them back in multiplayer. It gave players something else to run for at the beginning of the match. I always used to run for Camo when I played on The Pit.
I’ll never understand why Bungie didn’t develop power-ups further. They just stuck with cammo and OV, lol. They should definitely come back for H4, with no other player-trait-changing aspects to the game.
> Just for MP unless they change it up to a more realistic thing than a flying orb or a floating blue pyramid.
They did have realistic reasoning for being the way they were:
Overshield: Large tracts of energy power the energy shields, dumping extreme levels of protection when an object enters the magnetic field in which it is located.
Active Camo: Manipulates your energy shields, reflecting light in such a way that you cannot be seen. Humanity even manufactured their own rough copy, a twelve seconds Equipment (called Cloaking) reminiscent of the Arbiter’s in Halo 2.

There is no source. I ate it all.
Equipment and Powere Ups work differently. Bungie tried to make them look a lot different so they changed the looks of the powerups. Now to us older players the difference is obvious, but it could be confusing for newer players. Remember, Halo 3 was the first Halo game for a lot of people.
Not everybody wants them to return at the expense of AAs, but I’m fairly sure everybody wants them back. I’d also like a new design, something between CE’s and Halo 3’s respective looks.
