I personally can’t stand the fact that I can’t set my game to hear only those on my friends list. Listening to whiney -Yoink- kids and people who have awful background noise drives me nuts. Please bring back the option to mute players from the settings menu.
Agreed. Both little kids yelling and people blasting music through their mics need to be muted

Yeah but you gotta wait till you get into a match and a lot of the time it doesn’t indicate who’s a Kinect scrub/making noise/has a dysfunctional family/getting chewed out by family so you have to either mutated (mutated, really kindle… REALLY !!!) all and miss the rare call out or mute each in turn to see if it stops.

Yes but sometimes you can’t even do that. Occasionally it glitches out and you cannot mute anyone (particularly in Warzone).
Yes, I would like this. Used it all the time in previous games and after playing Halo 5 I’m reminded of why.
If you always Mute, I would suggest starting an Xbox Live Party and stay there. Game sound still works in Party Chat. There you will not hear anyone in the game.

It’s always an option that should be enabled for us to choose.

You’re suppose to be able to. I was trying to earlier in Warzone and I could still hear people. I was having to open their profile’s and mute them that way. I would rather not set my Xbox settings to friends only because I use Destiny LFG for when I want to do raids and that would mean I would have to change it every time for each game. I get 343 wants people to communicate in multiplayer but let’s face it, most the time when you are going to talk it is with people that are on your friends list.

That isn’t a half bad idea. Still doesn’t change the fact that the option should have been there to begin with. But I like your idea and I will probably use it just to save myself the hassle of having to mute everyone at the beginning of every game.
I was playing warzone and listened to a guy rant at his girlfriend or wife about how she spends to much money at Walgreens and buys useless Yoink all the time. I also heard a little kid rant about how he hates that he can’t kill people quick enough and how he hates that he can’t quick scope. I am dead serious I don’t need nor want to hear your life stories. 343 please add the ability to mute plahere in every game.
The lobby screen, IMO, is terrible compared to other multiplayer games. It does not give you the option to see who is taking/yelling/singing into their mic so you have to wait until the game starts before you can mute them. Problem is, now you are looking for who’s talking, usually at the beginning of the match, instead of playing and capturing points, etc… when you could have easily done it while at the lobby screen wait 2 for the match to load.
