As the title says. Im getting the unshakable feeling that 343 are going to give everyone the middle finger (especially non NA players) because of their incompetence and no -Yoinks!- given attitude, and just put this out p2p…
One sniff of p2p during the beta, and I’m out… And I should imagine a lot more people will be as well.

If they do that I will be pissed, as I’m currently not planning on playing Halo 5 multiplayer at all. I intend to stick to H2 and H2A (we need more maps for this one) for the next 8 years.

I would say there is little to no chance it’s going to be a P2P service regardless how this roll out was. Titanfall worked amazing after the first week IMO. This of course is a bit different, but still no chance. IF they can get it working I would say it’s going to be a better experience for everyone.

Don’t! If they could replicate or better titanfall in online side of things, then it would be a dream come true.

Too bad if dedicated servers never come up 343 will get sued for false advertising. That was a huge selling point and I’m not one for it but it will happen.

Think about it, even if they give us dedicated servers, once Halo 5 releases, they will make it their love child, and move all dedicated servers to it for the sake of marketing. “Oh, no dedicated servers on MCC, but Halo 5 does! looks like you’ll need to buy that to keep up-to-date!”
It’s 343i, would that sort of -Yoink- marketing strategy REALLY surprise you?

MCC is P2P right now while they are addressing the matchmaking issues. Once the bug end is worked out they will put it back up onto the dedicated servers. I’m 100% that Halo 5 will be dedicated servers (maybe not in beta).

The benefit of having the azure cloud for dedicated servers is that servers can be spun up on demand, meaning more efficiency and less reason to decommission servers when populations are low. I’m pretty sure that since Halo 5 is built from the ground up for xbox one, it should be fine on dedicated servers.

Also there is no p2p in this game, p2p implies that there is a subscription to play such as what most mmorpgs have. You do not have to pay to play online excluding Gold Membership requirements but that is for every game.

Hahaha, no. P2P in this case is referring to “Peer to peer” where, in simple terms, the game is hosted by someone in the game rather than a dedicated server, which is far less efficient and optimal than a server.
