I’m not bashing on 343i or anything, in fact, I think they’re taking Halo in a positive direction.
But lately, I’ve found the Halo formula to be predictable and overall boring. I just don’t love playing Halo multiplayer anymore. And please don’t say that it’s because I suck (look at my stats). Even when I finish an amazing game, I don’t feel much satisfaction from it.
To be brutally honest, I’m looking forward to the 2015 wave of Halo books more than Halo 5 itself. Big Team Battle has always been my favorite playlist, but I hardly felt any excitement during Warzone’s announcement. My biggest hope for Halo 5 is that the campaign will not be so linear like the past Halo’s have been.
I guess my tastes have changed over the years. I don’t enjoy Battlefield on PC as much either.
It seems like these forums are all about multiplayer, but does anyone else feel similar? I understand Halo is popular primarily because of its multiplayer.
Campaign, arena, objectives (specifically infection), warzone, btb, forge, and customs are what I’m looking forward to.
Campaign has always been first and foremost for me, especially after I started getting into the lore. It’s the reason that I buy the games in the first place.
Matchmaking is what keeps me around in the long term. No matter how good a campaign is, unless you’re trying to get world record runs, I feel like there are only so many times you can play a campaign and get the same level of enjoyment. However, if Halo 5’s campaign does end up being more open with multiple routes available to the player then it may be the most replayable campaign in the franchise.
Looking forward to the whole package.
At this point, Campaign is the only thing 343i has me interested in for Halo 5.
I’m not big fan of multiplayer so campaing is at the first place for me as allways.
I am heading to campaign first, then once I beat it a few times I will try out multiplayer. Campaign is one of the things that has me extremely interested.
actually im here for both the multiplayer and the campaign cause they both have been awesome in the halos ive seen so far
It’s all I care about for the most part, with Forge being a distant second. I never cared about MP even when I was good at it.
I definitely think they’ve created more interest in the story. Honestly after Halo 2, I really didn’t care about any of the character development in the games until Halo 4.
So following that up is worth the money on it’s own.
If I ever get an Xbox One and buy/pre-order Halo 5: Guardians, I will play a bit of multiplayer, but I’m mostly interested in the Campaign.
Halo is always about the Campaign for me. I don’t care for PvP at all, but PvE modes are always welcome.
I care about the whole package, I play the Halo Multiplayer pretty often (as often as I use my console anyway) But I have a tradition.
Legendary Campaign first.
Multiplayer after I get my campaign done.
Halo campaigns are for capturing imaginations within a vibrant and changing SciFi universe. Halo multiplayer is a good time with good friends.
Pretty much, yes. Of course I will try out all the new things too. Campaign will be the first thing I do though.
Ahhh…good see you guys that you care about story more than multi.
Without elites multiplayer is dull to me, despite it just being a character skin.
Still not sure if the campaign alone is worth the price.
The campaign is what draws me to a Halo game in the first place. Although multiplayer helps too if it’s great.
343 have proved that they can create amazing campaigns with interesting stories. So it’s worth playing for that aspect alone. Halo 4’s multiplayer may not have been on par with that of Halo 1-3, but the Halo 5 beta showed some improvement. So I’m at least marginally excited for it. But the Campaign will be the first thing I play and judge!
Playing the campaign with a friend or partner, having wine or beer has been my major drawcard - too bad we can’t do that… booooooo 343.
I got hooked on the Halo lore so that is what I always loon forward to. Multiplayer, in any form, if just a time killer until the next installment.
