Just throwing this out there because I dont think there are many players like me. I treat Halo like it was in Halo 1. I dont care about my rank, and I dont care about cosmetics. What I do care about is winning my match, getting better at the game, discovering fun glitches in the campaign and treating halo as match by match game.
Sure, I edit my colors and armor but very minimally. To me the fun is in the game not playing dressup with my action hero.

I feel exactly the same way. I may purchase a few cosmetics because I want to support the game, but I wonāt do it because I need all the armor sets and colors.

No Iām not defending 343 choices because I know that customization matters to many people, but it has never mattered to me in any game. I always found it to be a side thing but this generation of players have made it the most important thing. I am just curious if there are other people who just play the game and donāt care about skins. Im like this in other games like league, apex, etc

This isnt a generation thing. The average age is 35 and realistically, the most common generation of gamer is the same one that played during CE. Games have just implemented features to drive engagement and progression (one that is flexible and not restrictive like challenge only progression possible is) has now become an expectation. To be clear, the only reason they keep doing it is because the average gamer likes progression. Its an easy way to shoot additional dopemine into their brain.
All for you not really having that reaction, but thats def the minority
these posts are so funny
every time its announced that 343 botched a feature that has been a fun staple of the franchise its like āman yknow who cared about that anywayā
Iām pretty much exactly the same. Iām not bothered about dressing up my dolly, I just care about the MP gameplay. Sure Iāll tweak my armour every so often, but itās of very little importance to me. I may buy something like the battlepass occasionally to support the developer of a free game.
I donāt even care about campaign. Iāve played all the Halo campaigns since 3 once because itās there, but again, not really interested. I expect Iāll play Infiniteās campaign because I have Gamepass, but if I didnāt I certainly wouldnāt be buying it.

I think it shows the generation gap between halo gamers . We ummm āmore experiencedā gamers understand combat loops where as the umm hmmm 'less experienced ā only see shiny bright cosmetics as dress up day for Spartans regardless of the gameplay quality .
Iām a simple man with a simple, yet subtle complicated replyā¦
āI used to careā
Lol melodrama

i will support the game when i see that they are truly and genuinely listening to the community and truly making a game that they want and not to make up for the losses of 4/5 and not adding lazy battlepasses, store, premium items in battlepass, restricting color choice by pulling a cosmetic money scheme like destiny.
