I figured we had this thread. Than we should also have one dedicated to those of us who have the time and desire to put forth real Halo effort into opening the HCS pack. I was lucky that this started on my days off or it would have been difficult to put in the time needed.
It took me about 70 Arena games and 15 hours. I am sure if I had done all Warzone Assault games it wouldn’t have been as long. I really just wanted to see if it was possible. I did play mostly BTB though, with a few other games mixed in simply to break it up.
Oh, and here’s some proof. I did actually openit with RP and not buying it. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. 80K is a lot, and I wasn’t sure I would make it, but I did with time to spare.
Anyone else? Or am I alone in my ability to trudge through this game for XP and RP?
got about 30,00 points but was running out of time so i just bought it. unless you played the game none stop for 3 days you’re -Yoink- out of luck sadly
I really think 343i should provide us some advance notice on the cost of these kinds of packs, because 80,000 is a lot of REQ points to earn in 3 days. Luckily, I love this game, and I played about 30-40 Warzone and Warzone Assault games to get to 80,000. As a result, I bought it without money, proudly. I know someone who had 3 or 4 legendary Warzone RP boosts, and was able to get the pack within a day of its release

That’s too bad, and you wouldn’t necessarily have had to play it nonstop. Warzone Assault games give about 2,000 RP’s so about 40 games would take around 8 hours of gameplay. If I didn’t have the time I would have gone this route.
Remember this next time there is some limited time available packs, and you might be able to get them.
I didn’t want to waste 80k rp.
8 gold packs are way better than 1 , 5 item pack.
16 permanent items and you can sell the other items to get maybe 2 more golds.
Even though I could got the 80k in a day, I bought it day 1. To not waste my time.

Lol, I love the insinuation there. I’m sure, for a lot of us, it would have been easy to spend $10.00. However, some of us have worked through our needs for instant gratification.
Considering how much money i earn by working an hour and how much req points i earn playing a hour, it was easy decision to spent the reqs for regular packs and buy this one. Though, the momemt i bought it, i couldn’t believe i actually paid 10bucks for this crap. Will skip theese packs im future i guess.

That is a great idea. I would totally be ok with that.

> I didn’t even buy it in the end. They’re only skins!
Yeah, they are only skins, but I have to admit I like the skins. They are the one thing I can see while I am playing the game. It was purely a selfish thing. I won’t even wear the armor, but I will use the emblem; that is, until I earn my next one.

The whole point of this wasn’t for everyone to buy with REQ. That is why it was so much RP. The point was for 343 to increase the money in the HCS pool, hence getting as many people as possible to buy it with real money, not RP. So, I can’t see any motivating reason to announce anything related to RP cost in advance from 343’s perspective…

The advance notice would have been nice that is for sure, but you know that would cut into how many people bought it since they would have had time to save for it. So in a way that would defeat the purpose of encouraging us to spend the money.
I got to 65,000 REQ points last night, then I just didn’t want to play anymore. So, I sold 74 Overshields, 25 Speed Boost, 17 Active Camos, 10 Beam Rifles, 7 Sniper Rifles, 15 Fuel Rod Canons, 5 Energy Swords, 3 Shotguns, 10 Ghost, 10 Warthogs, 15 Mongeese, and 5 Scorpions.
Let’s just say, I got the HCS Pack.
