As the Banished are confirmed to appear in Halo Infinite, I heard that a new brute character who goes by the name ‘Hyperius’ is likely to make an appearance and possibly the main antagonist of Halo Infinite. My guess about who Hyperius happens to be is that he might be Atriox’s apprentice who is carrying a war against the other groups of humans and elites.

Yeah he could be his second in command. Kind of like how Shipmaster was to the Arbiter.
My guess is that Hyperius is Atriox’s most trusted lieutenant, having left him In charge of the Banished that remained in the galaxy.
I’d assume, like Decimus, Hyperius was one of the of the Original Brutes who rebelled against the Covenant along side Atriox.

Yeah Hyperius might be Atriox’s most trusted lieutenant. That’s also possible. Perhaps it’s possible that Hyperius is leading a crew from The Banished on Zeta Halo. There’s a possibility of that being the case.
Assuming that all of the Banished forces were present on the Ark, and that a division didn’t remain inside the galaxy, he’s either an established commander for The Banished, that was then present when on the Halo when it was transported into the galaxy, or he was a Brute present on the Ring, and has since taken control over the local Banished forces.
A high ranking commanding figure, to be sure.
I would assume he’s the guy who sent the message in the Signal Detected teaser. Definitely high ranking.

We know that not all the forces were on the ring as Atriox’s ship wasn’t there, so there’s at least some of The Banished somewhere else in the galaxy.
It could be the brute Atriox left his ship with before leaving to the ark. I say this for anyone that don’t know but not all the banished forces left to the ark before the start of halo wars 2. A good majority stayed within the galaxy.

No, that’s not what I said. I know that most of The Banished forces are still on the Ark, as far as we know (from Halo Wars 2). However, I don’t know if we know if there were Banished forces inside the galaxy BEFORE the Halo was sent into the galaxy from the Ark. There are obviously Banished forces now in the galaxy, given that they were on the Halo when it was transported, but that isn’t to say that there may or may not have already been Banished forces in the galaxy prior to the events of Halo Wars 2.

Oh sorry, I misread your comment. My bad.

It’s no trouble, don’t worry. I could and should have worded it a little clearer.
Now that Escharum has been revealed, I’m curious about the importance that he and hyperius have in the game. The trailer sets up Escharum as the big bad, perhaps Hyperius is gonna be like the sub-boss? I’m intrigued to see what happened in this war humanity lost to the banished. How severe was it? is locke going to have an on screen death? Where are fireteam osiris and blue team? Where are the swords of sanghelios and the arbiter? Does the flood show up? What’s going on with cortana’s ai? They said this game was gonna be huge so here a little theory. There isn’t going to be a sole campaign. Its going to be broken up seasonally, beginning with escharum. A dlc will address Cortana and the prometheans and another will focus on a flood outbreak. Let volir and arrive might show up along with paving and voridus perhaps. There’s too much going on for a single straight forward campaign at launch. I think seasonal story releases are a possibility.
