Some of you guys may think it looks cool to put everything on ALL CAPS, but I don’t, it honestly looks awful. I’m not even going to get into how bad the trading card style layout of the pregame lobby, I only want to know who made the decision to make EVERYTHING CAPS. did your caps lock get stuck on when coding the UI? did you guys sit around in a board meeting and come to the conclusion that this was a good idea? it makes no sense. It really cant be that big of a think to fix, i know a ton of people whose gamer tags are completely broken because they used an L instead of an I to spell their name.

The entire UI is really messy OP, I don’t know if they can fix it post-launch. If they can it would be nice though.
they should be able to with a title update, im sure it cant be that hard.

Because making a poor choice on design in a menu is a good reason to ruin someone’s life. lol… Get over it and just play the game… seriously, people will complain about anything anymore… -.-
I like the trading card style showing our spartans. Saves me time, I remember back in 3’s day I always tried to look at everyone’s armor before the game started. Back then I had to go all the way to the service record to see that if you remember.

Guess what they did in Reach? It was like the cards, except better. You go over a player’s gamertag and it showed you their armor and various information about them. Now the gamertags are at the bottom of the screen for some reason, a place where you’re taught as an artist people never look, instead of the second half of the screen. Combined with everyone’s GT’s scrunched together it looks silly.

I just mean they should fix the limited choices they made, there is a reason this game has such a poor population, they changed way too much, they said they were making a sequel to halo 3, but made one from halo reach. believe me i play the game, ive been playing since halo 1, halo 4 is not a bad game they just have several major issues that drive the hardcore halo fans crazy.

I don’t think they will fix it for Halo 4. This is probably something that will happen for Halo 5.
The UI was outsourced so I highly doubt you’re gonna find out who the person was. I’m not a fan of the all caps, but I think they did that so it’s easier to read since you have to read names sideways if you’re not on the person selected.

My guess is they tried to be artsy and cool, but failed massively as they traded looks over function.

yeah i agree, and i think they really tried to make it resemble halo way-point.

So now you’re trying to make the argument that the menu text contributed to the population decrease? I highly doubt anyone really cares all that much, because the Menu text doesn’t reflect the quality of the game itself.
In all honesty, I have been playing since 2001 myself. I didn’t even notice the all-caps text until you pointed it out to me just now…

It’s probably hard and not worth the time and effort to redo a whole UI for one game when they can just put that effort to a better UI for the next project. It’s all about time management and resources.
Also they’re not making you pay anything. You choose to pay $60.
At least it’s not Comic Sans, right?
