Who checks K/D?

Before a match who checks the overall K/D of your teammates to generalize their ability to play the game?

Yes, I am well aware that K/D does not reflect your ability to play Halo. This is just a simple poll, people!

Nice poll you got there. So many choices :stuck_out_tongue:

I check K/D, just to get a simple idea who i am facing. It’s a habit.

Before anyone opens their mouth (not at OP, nit pickers), i -Yoinking!- know it’s not the most reliable way to check if someone is good or not. However, some indication is better than no indication.

Ya I wandered away for a bit before finishing it xD

I also check on occasion. Generally for small slayer gametypes, like SWAT or 4s.

i check it after a game, usually if I wanna add them to my party or FL if they sound like good ppl (talking on mic I mean).

never before a game, I usually am looking at my armor trying to see if I can change anything, I never do though lol

I always check it, not that it matters, if I play on my own I already know that the 4 worst players will be in my team… >_>

Sometimes.

I check the KD of the other players in Reach more often because that game requires a lot more teamfire than Halo 4. Still, I do check from time to time to see how good my opponents will be.

I always end up with people that go massively negative anyway so i dont check.

I will check a few of the higher level opponents on occasion.

> I will check a few of the higher level opponents on occasion.

Ya. I tend to check the highest couple players in the lobby. Then I lol at their horrid k/d.

In small gametypes I tend to always get stuck with the players who go the most negative :frowning: It’s probably why I only play those types with a friend or two.

Especially the new Team Regicide gametype :S

Dude I check KD before every match, my teammates and my opponents.

If my teammates are solid I don’t have to worry about them as much. If I have a garbage teammate I’ll typically stick in the general vacinity of them and attempt to save them when they’re in combat, of clean up the kill when they get slaughtered.

If my opponent has a very high KD, my team knows we hit to always be calling that person out, always knowing where they are, and always teamshotting them. The person with the high KD will carry their team to victory if you don’t stop them.

Then we look at who has a terrible KD on their team. If you run into the guy with a terrible KD, even if you’re half shields you push them anyway. What the hell are they going to do? They aren’t going to kill you, they’re terrible, so be agressive when you see them.

Of course there will always be the “KD doesn’t mean ANYTHING crowd”, though I’ll disagree since my analyses have been consistantly spot on.

Hell one time in H3 we knew we were going to lose. The enemy team had 3 really amazing players. They also had; however, one really terrible player. I made it a point in the pre game lobby to talk a massive amount of trash to that kid, just so he’d play overly agressive and give up free kills.

The plan worked, everybody on their team went positive, except the BK with the terrible KD, who just refused to stop charging into our base.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
KD Doesn’t mean EVERYTHING =/= KD means NOTHING.

If I see the opposing team is full of people with KDs of 1.2, I already know ahead of time my team is going to slaughter them.

Generally, outside of objective based gametypes, K/D does seem to be an accurate reflection of how the player plays.

Of course, people have good and bad games all the time. It’s not a blanket rationalization of how good or bad people will always be.

Same here. I always look at my armor before a game starts

I voted yes, but in reality, I check if the teams have a lot of people in the 50’s, 60’s range or higher…

It depends on the game

i check peoples k/d its really funny when you see a sr + 110 have a 3.0 kd only to find out all he did was kill his guest in regicide.

I never check peoples service record.

I look at my k/d in the post game carnage report. Thats about it really. I don’t care what other player’s k/d is.

I do as well. The more information I know about the users I am being paired up with or against, the better.
