It does have it’s moments

> There are 214 Helmets and 214 Armor Suits, with more coming in future updates. That’s over 400 unlocks, without even including Visors (57), or anything under the Spartan ID or Weapon Skins Tabs. Or Weapon, Vehicle, or Power Up Certifications, for that matter. If we had to unlock each Armor Set piece by piece, that would take entirely too long, and you would be complaining about that instead.

> Just to be clear: I’m not saying the REQ system is perfect. I do prefer it to Halo 4’s unlock system, as 5’s gives a slightly above average player, such as myself, the ability to acquire really cool Armor Sets through random chance. (I can’t speak on Reach or 3, as never played either’s Multiplayer).
Except a lot of the 214 armor sets are mostly skins. This was made to fluff the REQ system with lots of things to unlock. You remember when we didn’t have the REQ system, and when we could customize head, arms, shoulders, chest and leg armors, there wasn’t many skins for the armors? Since there wasn’t a microtransaction system to make such an investment worthwhile, we didn’t have many skins in the old games, and we went along just fine with that, as we had armor that was, for the most part, unique and different from a different set.

> Its not about “adding more options” to a game to make it better. Sure I’d love more customization options but when you develop a game, you start out with a plan and a list of features you need and a list of those that are optional. You’re given deadlines by publishers/higher-ups and when you dont meet those deadlines, you start crossing off features on the list that arent “required” for the game to ship. Now that we have DLC/patch updates, publishers want the games out even FASTER since they’d rather have you launch the game (in hopes to fix it later) instead of continually delaying it. On top of that, who knows what bugs you can introduce into a game by adding a single line of code? Thats more play testing and troubleshooting that you’ll have to go through to make sure the game isnt buggy.
>
> Game development is a bigger process than “oh they want this, then lets give it to them!” Theres millions of dollars and investors backing a single game and they all have a hand to play in the development of a game. The way they see it, and so do i, is that they should be focusing on the core gameplay mechanics (which overall has been generally well received) instead of armors/extra features that are merely cosmetic.
In all honesty, most consumers don’t give a damn about any of those things, nor should they be expected to.
These devs and publishers want us to buy what they are selling, so they should be expected to offer us something that we want to buy. That doesn’t mean that they have to give every player all of the things that they could ever possibly want, but neither does it mean that they should be allowed to get away with producing half finished, skeleton games.
These apologist arguments benefit no one. The more we continue to excuse their anti-consumer business practices, the more game developers and publishers will feel justified in offering less and demanding more for it.
i just want left and right shoulder in memories of reach
maybe more if they can
More customization is never a bad thing in my opinion.

Should I break down the different systems? I’m going to break down the different systems.Halo 3: Helmet, left & right shoulders, chest. emblem (they showed up on the armor so why the hell not)

> > Hmm… I don’t see anything about knee guards or the arms or legs on that list. Does anyone else? No? Thought so.Now, what system in Halo 5 is the closest to having all of those elements? Ah yes, Halo 5 and Halo 3. Halo 5 lacks the ability to change the shoulders while Halo 3 lacks the ability to change visor colors. With all this knowledge the customization of the armor for future Halo games should be rather simple to identify now.

All we did was add one more option to separate the left and right shoulders! We don’t need to change our forearms or our knees. And we most certainly don’t need a damn bag on our legs or an apple watch on our wrist. We just need the five options listed above to give us more than enough freedom to enjoy the eighty or so armor sets in Halo 5 + the other hundred skins.

> I disagree with the premise that just because someone may not notice, in-game, all the armor customization’s that we had available in Reach, that we should not expect that variety, or even want it, in Halo 5. A big thing for me, and I am sure for others, was/is looking at other player’s armor in the lobby. We can see each other’s idea of what we like, and what we have accomplished. Yes, I was one of those with the thigh bag and fancy wrist watch. I wore them with pride.
>
> Now there really isn’t anything equivalent to that. The lack of variety is just disappointing, and the belief that there is enough variety, or what we have now is better than we’ve ever had is just wrong, in my opinion.
Is dressing up your virtual Barbie doll really that important? We’ve got the basics and around 270 of them at that. To say that we have a “lack of variety” boarders on lunacy.
It still boggles my mind that we don’t have the kind of lobby UI that Reach had in this Halo. It’s been six months, and it’s pretty clear 343 isn’t peeling off enough personnel to work on UI and post-game carnage lobby states. This should’ve been fixed in 2-3 months after launch. They must have only…what…4 or guys or so working on this?! It should’ve been a far higher priority!

> Sure it’s nice to look at stuff in the menus, but before you know it, people will be asking for customisable finger armours.
CUSTOMISABLE FINGER ARMOURS!? SIGN ME UP!
I don’t know if y’all have noticed, but the boots on the Helioskrill armor are hooves, (as it was designed by elites). It’s a little detail that took me a few weeks of wearing the armor to notice, but it really fits the lore of the suits. Not everyone notices, but those that do appreciate the small details.
We need easier req points to earn better reqs
Personally I just wish that the emblem would appear on the shoulder or chest piece again and that we can mix and match pieces like in the older titles to give another level of customization. Being able to choose your voice type wouldn’t hurt either.
I rather have arm pieces than shoulder pieces.
I mean when you play you can see your arm pieces for the entire game right?
I love the Venator armor piece, but the arms are a little fugly, no?
CHROMEHOUNDS.
Its an older game with amazingly detailed game mechanics and deep customization. I honestly believe with a Halo twist we can have that kind of armor customization. Or at least a game spin off we can. I dont know. All I know is gameplay and content is lessened majorly bcse people demand crisper higher-end graphics.
It doesn’t matter if you can’t see it in game i want it because i know its there and thats what matters

I love this guy cx
I miss the degree of customization available in Reach and 4. I preferred those systems to this RNG unlock system in Halo 5.
I can understand the post because I know that people like to customize their spartan to make it look unique. The only thing that I seem to care about is the color options! I really like changing colors every so often and it would be cool if we were able to make our own mix. I would also like the option to make my own emblem.
Rather have the choice of changing different sections of the armor, than 5 different decals of the same armor -_-
haha
