Who cares if you can't notice it in game?

Its not about “adding more options” to a game to make it better. Sure I’d love more customization options but when you develop a game, you start out with a plan and a list of features you need and a list of those that are optional. You’re given deadlines by publishers/higher-ups and when you dont meet those deadlines, you start crossing off features on the list that arent “required” for the game to ship. Now that we have DLC/patch updates, publishers want the games out even FASTER since they’d rather have you launch the game (in hopes to fix it later) instead of continually delaying it. On top of that, who knows what bugs you can introduce into a game by adding a single line of code? Thats more play testing and troubleshooting that you’ll have to go through to make sure the game isnt buggy.

Game development is a bigger process than “oh they want this, then lets give it to them!” Theres millions of dollars and investors backing a single game and they all have a hand to play in the development of a game. The way they see it, and so do i, is that they should be focusing on the core gameplay mechanics (which overall has been generally well received) instead of armors/extra features that are merely cosmetic.

the devil is in the details, it reflects hard work and dedication of a company and a franchise of what customers expect… Reach style needs to make a comeback with 6.

I kinda agree with you. it would be a different helmet and the shoulders and chest would be the same.

If you don’t care about customization, then leave the thread, it obviously doesn’t pertain to you.

So what if people can’t notice my shoulder pads or knee pads or visor colour? I don’t care, I want to make my Spartan how I want to make it. Reach’s system was perfect, it should stay that way. Besides, I want to make it that I can wear the Recluse thrusters on my security watchhog, that way I would look sick as.

Not to mention I reckon 343 would get more money out of it if we unlocked certain parts of a armor set aka Thrusters, knee pads, shoulder pads, gauntlets, legs, chest, helmet and visor.

anyone. Want to join The UNSC US ARMY

I grew up with halo. I stick with the tradional Master chief armor for each game. Minus visor color. Black.

RNG REQ packs. Lots and lots of RNG Gold packs.

The Halo 5 customization is fine. Its a change

> Sure it’s nice to look at stuff in the menus, but before you know it, people will be asking for customisable finger armours.

Not really, the customization is bare-bones -Yoink- in this game right now. Reach by far had the best system though they could remove stuff like knee pads and the tiny things

ROGLMFAO! It hurts!

Seriously though. I don’t know when less became more, and I’m not talking about hundreds of helmets and chest peices with different stripes. I liked full customization of armor and EMBLEMS. There’s no good reason we can’t toggle them and change the backgrounds to make something unique. It was the first change I noticed of too many to follow. It may be trivial to some or most but it made me sad.

That’s what surprises me, they would make even more money, which is their obsession due to the REQ packs in this game being filled with so much -Yoink-

I want customizable finger armor.

None of this matters once I get my complete Achilles armor That’s all I have until they shutdown the servers.

P.s. Unless they make another awesome armor that requires unreal amounts if grinding then I’ll wear that, mainly because I like grinding with my clan and it shows how dedicated you are as a team.

Yea, don’t really care about the wrists too much. I’ve only recently started to care on how the legs look because, based on the body armor we have now, some legs are round and thick, like the teishin, athalon, and venture to name a few, compared to warrior and noble body armor legs to name a few.

What you fail to consider is the way that Halo 5’s unlock system works.

There are 214 Helmets and 214 Armor Suits, with more coming in future updates. That’s over 400 unlocks, without even including Visors (57), or anything under the Spartan ID or Weapon Skins Tabs. Or Weapon, Vehicle, or Power Up Certifications, for that matter. If we had to unlock each Armor Set piece by piece, that would take entirely too long, and you would be complaining about that instead.

Just to be clear: I’m not saying the REQ system is perfect. I do prefer it to Halo 4’s unlock system, as 5’s gives a slightly above average player, such as myself, the ability to acquire really cool Armor Sets through random chance. (I can’t speak on Reach or 3, as never played either’s Multiplayer).

In case it somehow wasn’t obvious yet, “a lot of people” is the answer.

Sure people will not see that, But it is for us. I felt more attached and felt like I was the Spartan because I was able to do so much with the armor. Halo 5, I just don’t feel that way

I am Sev, the rightful captain of…
Uh, no you’re not, you aren’t wearing Grenedier knee pads, wrong knees, WRONG KNEES!!
(Someone please get this reference I spent 10 minutes scrolling through the thread to make sure someone didn’t already say this)

This is bizarre. You could so tell in Reach what people were wearing. I’d always define enemies by their gear. In Reach there wasn’t descaling and 2d spartans in order to accomodate 60fps. In Halo 5 you can’t tell because once spartans get far away they become little slips of paper and barely identifiable. In Reach it was the opposite. Spartan models were always visible and clear to see.
