I figured I’d quote:

This is why it’s important.

brilliant idea.
please 343!

> I can see why 343 decided to simplify the armor customization, but I do agree that we should have been given the ability to customize shoulder pads independently from our chest armor. In my opinion, both Halo Reach and Halo 4 took the armor customization too far, Reach more so, and with Halo 5’s 50-some visor colors, many of which are just the same ones, I believe that 343 expanded in the wrong way. That being said, Halo 3’s customization style was my favorite, but I do like the large variety of armor we have now, save for the multitude of armor skins; Halo Reach did it better by allowing slight armor variations.
I am confused a bit here. You are kind of everywhere with this. I am not sure whether you want more or less.
I miss the dynamic customization. I enjoyed having so many options. I really wanted the customization Halo 4 had in Halo 5: Guardians.
Personally, I would’ve wore The Mark V helmet, shoulders, and forearms with Mark VI legs and chest. Or the Centurion legs and body. I created a character who favored the older armors basically.
A lot of fans especially Deviantart users enjoyed that creativity. I feel it alienated users from one another

Something like this!
I think I preferred Halo: Reach’s armor customization, but it is limited compared to Halo 4 and 5. In Halo 3, everything was built on top of a Mark VI base. In Halo: Reach, everything is built off of a Mark V(B) base. In Halo 4 and 5, you have different armor sets that are actually different.
I preferred Halo: Reach’s customization because I like the Mark V(B) armor. I like what 343 has been doing though, since rather than the only things that are actually different being the helmet and shoulder pads, we have fully unique sets. 343 could definitely work on their REQ system, but it’s not unbearably bad either.
Halo: Reach levels of customization won’t come back, and I think the only way they could improve the current system would be to HOPEFULLY add shoulder (non individual) and Leg and Arm (paired: Mark VI arms and legs, Mark IV arms and legs, etc.) customization.
I also don’t want Reach and 3’s armor systems to return for the following reason… EVERYONE’S WEARING THE SAME GOD-DAMN ARMOR! I’d rather stay “Unique”, rather than ““Unique.””
DISCLAIMER!: This is my opinion on the matter. No one should feel attacked.
As long as I have my Rogue helmet and a decent set of armor to go with it, I don’t really care. I’m content with whatever options they want to give me. Sure, I’d love to customize everything, but dress-up is pretty low on my priority list.

Me too…
Halo Reach was my favorite halo of all time armor customization was part of the reason why I wanna see my badass spartan In cutscenes!!!
I would definitely enjoy more customization.
Bring back emblems on spartans
I can notice the difference in Reach and actually cared, Halo 5 you can’t tell the armor apart half the time and you really don’t care. Plus menus in Halo 5 suck compared to Reach, since you can’t see people’s stances, emblems or armor (specifically) and you don’t even see them in the fireteam lobby. What’s the point of stances now? Just my personal opinion.
You can also see your armor colors in War Zone firefight, whenever that launches

> Reach overcomplicated it in my opinion. So much small detail that you don’t even notice it in the game.
> Sure it’s nice to look at stuff in the menus, but before you know it, people will be asking for customisable finger armours.
Actually… wouldn’t finger armor be the one that you notice the most in game?
I agree that Reach may have a bit over abundance of options but that was also part of the fun and the drive to earn certain pieces of gear, let alone for the OCD completion that drives some people. The current setup in H5 is like a huge all you can eat buffet, but each item has 5 different variances/nuances to them and, to me, doesn’t make it stand out and be as unique. Yes, I like variety like most, but this run of armor permutations is…lacking and not as exciting as I feel it should be.
I notice people’s armor in warzone like oh he has glacier visor or he has this helmet even if it means that I die because of looking.
I say the H4 armor system was the best, but Reach had the most realistic version.

I don’t feel attacked, but how you think Reach’s armor is limited compared to 4 and 5 is difficult to fathom. Reach had 10 options to choose from, H4 had 7, H5 has 3. Seems like the opposite to me.

He probably thinks that way because I believe Halo 4 technically had more armors to choose from, while having less regions to customize.
I remember when H3 launched it was so great to be able to change your armor to stand out, now it’s a salt fest.
