Achilles armor for the win, unless they ever give us the ability to design our own

Like he said plenty of options.

Not that I don’t customize my look, but I don’t spend a boatload of time poring over all the minute details and comparing this to that and etc, OR worry about when I’m gonna get X armor. Look, I get the need for individuality amongst the community when it comes to how you want to be seen, but when ppl running Spartan Companies are kicking players out right before they unlock the Achilles’ Armor, and basically holding the ish for ransom, there’s a problem inherent within the system. And I have to laugh. Because otherwise I would succumb to the insanity. And nobody wants that. =P

The Achilles’ Armor phenomenon is a whole different story. The fact that companies kick people out right before they receive it is ridiculous.
I was also surprised by the fact that this topic has been so popular.
One of my main issues has not really been the armor, even though it seems like it is, it is the fact that there should never be regression with newer generation games. Halo 5’s armor options has been a regression from a game that is 6 years old. That kind of thing should never happen.
I enjoyed the challenges associated with unlocking unique armor pieces. The fact that I had to overcome difficult obstacles in order to sport some really awesome look on my spartan gave me a reason to keep playing.

That would be very interesting indeed. I would really enjoy seeing what people come up with, as well as designing my own custom variants. It would add a whole new level to the Halo community!

Would you like me to put out games that have regressed in certain areas? Games go down and up all the time in different aspects. An example: they lower custimization options so the art team can have more time working on say the frames or the graphics, or the art design of the game. Seriously, I could easily name AAA games throughout their life spans where they regressed and progressed in different areas. Custimization in a fps shouldn’t be a huge loss anyways.
EDIT: I’ll go ahead and just mention a few games this way I won’t need to do it later.
mess effect to mass effect three: the story started out great, combat was clunky as hell and the graphics were meh. Mess effect three would be where most would consider it to have the worst story execution, but it had the best combat system and art design to it, it even introduced multiplayer.
Dragon age series: first game, again great story execution and custimization, then from there on out it regressed but it’s clunky combat system improved, the art design definately improved, and it too added multiplayer.
Those were rpg examples. Onto fps examples:
halo: had great story execution to a degree, had fun and enjoyable multiplayer for everyone. It progressed by adding in forge, minor custimization new multiplayer features that most dos games don’t have (vehicular combat being one big one). Those were progression, now onto the regression that even bungie had admitted to, it became more work and time consuming, certain things got cut (h2 was originally supposed to also be h3 but), removed health pickups which helped seperate halo from most shooters(only arena games had Heath pickups) some saw that as regression), then there’s them adding in weapons that serve same purpose as another, it adds variety but took away the “uniqueness” of said weapon.
CoD: originally never had a perk system or weapon attachments but got them involved mid life, but regressed in story (so many ignore the story since its been -Yoink- for so long) with multiplayer being the focus. Custimization improved but at the cost of grinding to unlock them (no one likes to play forever just to unlock certain items, even halo reach-5 has same issue). Then there’s them adding in file share/theatre of their own, however that’s been progressively going backwards for some time now.
i could do more but I’d have pages where every game regressed. Point is it’s a “this or that” situation for the most part.

Your playfully exaggerated final line is actually a valid idea for something that WOULD be noticeable in game. Seeing as how you can see your hands more than anything else in a first person shooter. Gloves wouldn’t have been a terrible idea, really, but it’s way too late to start adding stuff like that which would only serve to further pad out the Req pool for people who are still new.

Finger armors FTW

Yeah…it’ll be to complex by then.
It would be disappointing if I opened a req pack and got the shoulder pads to an armor set…
i reckon it should be a mix of reach and for but more towards reach like how the basic noble six helmet had the visor hull upgrade and the tracker thing on the side, but get rid of the wrists and utility (leg thing) so it works better with the game, not a thing that would happen but if certain armours gave buffs like big and bulky- more shields and armour but slower, lighter- faster and higher jump but slightly weaker. but like its just an idea i reckon would be cool so it actually gives armour a purpose and effect

YES but optional

But it all comes in reqs like it does now. You get the body set and can change like in h4
I didn’t look at armor as much as i looked at people’s file share screenshots while waiting for a match in Halo 3. That was the best thing to do while waiting to play
