Who balanced Exile?

So here are the rough times to the various weapons/vehicles from each base. Note, sprint was not used.

Gauss Hog, goes without saying this is in the bag for the Blue team.

Rockets go to blue with 13.5 secs compared to 16.5.

Banshee goes to Blue, 13.5 vs 15.5.

Tank goes to Red, 19 vs 15.

However, the tank is normally approached with the mongoose, so with sprinting to mongoose, Red is 9 vs 10 for Blue. Which means Blue has almost as much chance as Red, plus Blue have slightly better sight lines while rushing the tank.

Anyone else think Exile needs balancing?

and yet, this community continues to pick it non-stop whenever it pops up in BTB because:

“Bro, Gauss Hog/Scorpion! Gotta raise that K/D mhmm.”

Only a tiny minority actually cares about Exile being unbalanced…

Personally, I fail to see how it is. Red team? I can still win.

Yes, obviously Red team can still win, I didn’t say they couldn’t, but the fact is the map is horribly unbalanced, and given equal sides, Blue team will almost always win. That’s poor map design.

Almost every map in this broken game is unbalanced. Another thing 343 royally screwed up.

I would say that it needs balancing but i never play BTB. Unless with a friend.
But i was playing BTB some time ago in Exile and i got rampage with Gauss hog (im sorry) and yet we still lost.

Because our team kept dying instead of killing.

Starting a thread calling someone at 343 a moron is just wow. If you want improvement and if people want 343 to listen to them then you and they must carefully point out an issue and at least suggest a sensible fix/alternate.

OK, point taken subject changed. However, I don’t need to point out how to fix the issue, I’ve highlighted what’s wrong, so it’s obvious what needs to be done to fix it.

Of course there are other variables like engagement to get those items but even then the numbers do point to one team. Hmm. This is where I say I just prefer symmetrical maps.

I wonder how the current setup could be changed. Maybe remove tank and have one gauss for each team? I don’t know about banshee because that hallway could go to either team. Though one team has a better entrance for shooting. There is also the matter with the rockets.

Take out the Guass and Scorpion, keep the banshee but give both teams rocket hogs.

Infinity playlist in general need balancing in my opinion.

There’s a case for ditching the gauss and scorpion altogether, but assuming they stay in.

Yep, a gauss for the Red team for starters.

Leave the tank where it is, as I pointed out it’s a good contest when mongoose rushed. Plus it’s not a great map for tank dominance.

Move the banshee to the control tower (see map below), I haven’t done the timings but I think it’s pretty evenly spaced between the 2.

Simply move the rockets towards the Red team base so it’s equals distance between both bases.

Still not perfectly balanced, but a whole lot better already, and that took 2 mins thought.

Congratulations. What does the Red team have to do to win? Play to blow up enemy vehicles immediately and disable the blue teams main spawn. What does that lead to? Cross map DMR battles with POD snipers appearing out of the blue.

What does blue team have to do to win? Utilize their advantage in Power weapons/Vehicles and play conservatively. What does that lead to? Red team ragequitting or getting demolished by unfair odds.

Which one is significantly easier to accomplish without a full team? I hope its clear now.

I actually think Exile is a fun map, you can win easily on either side.

-Yoink- me, right?

Loose the Gauss, that vehicle is horribly OP on it’s own regardless of who has it
Move the tank slightly further away from the reds
Move the rockets up into the middle caves
Have the Banshee take off on the middle wreckage

Yes you can win on both sides obviously. But blue team have a significant advantage, both off spawn and during the game (Gauss), and that should not be the case.

Yeah man I’m all for balance, don’t get me wrong, Gauss is superior to tank on Exile so I’m of course more pleased with being on blue team, but it doesn’t ruin my experience being on red team, I still have fun playing on it.

If you don’t like Gauss or any of that stuff then it plays great for Dominion.

You’re forgetting what kinds of excessive -Yoink!- happens thanks to dynamic spawning.

Tactics dictate that the color who has vehicle control wins. It still astonishes me that few players pack the plasma pistol to BTB, my own team included. I love the “hey banshee is still up anyone got a pea shooter?” call outs both in my group and when I play with randoms. Also, if spawning red, run tank to blue to kill gauss and spawn swap its a legit tactic and will seal the deal for a red victory.

This thread is OLD news. Everyone knows how unbalanced it is. People vote for it in the hope that they will get guass/tank and get a huge, unearned spree. In a game with two roughly matched teams, blue will win 100% of the time. Red only wins if they are much, much better.

Agreed.

If I am on Red team, although I don’t get the Gauss Hog first off,I get it there are after each time it re spawns, almost 90% of the time.Or,if I am after the Banshee, it’s almost 50/50. As for the Scorpion, by using Mobility,I’m always there first unless the Blue team snipes me with the Gauss Hog.

If I’m on the Blue team, the red team and I’m interested in the gauss Hog, the red team almost never gets it. If I’m interested in the banshee it’s about 50/50. Although, I never bother attempt getting the Scorpion the first spawn unless while driving the Gauss Hog I notice that the red team is stuffing about and I’ll make sure we secure it then. Otherwise, depending on how the game is going, I might be there to steal the Scorpion on its next re-spawn.

Exile is fine if you play the map and spawns right and make use of various load-outs.

On other occasions, I don’t go near a vehicle the entire match and am happy to fight it out with load-out weapons,ODs and hand-to-hand stuff.
