So I was looking at forums and found one about somebody wanting a clear picture of ling ling. So I googled it… WHAT TEH HECK IS DAT!
It was a name option for the loadouts in Halo Reach, luckily I was playing that today. I’m assuming Ling Ling is a Spartan III, as the name is among other known Spartans.
Its the head of an dog in an Jar that went missing.
The missing sign can be seen on Halo2s multiplayermap Zanzibar.
It’s a sad day when youngsters these days don’t even know about Ling Ling.

Well, I mean… I never knew about this ling ling thing until now, and i’ve been playing Halo since CE when I was about 5 years of age.

To be fair, you had to be a regular on Bungie.net or HBO like I was back in the day to be acquainted with her. Even then, she was only ever spoken of in hushed tones, echoes of Chinese whispers along dark, decrepit corridors…

Ah well one the shoulder pieces for Kat looked like a face so a fan created some fanart of it and named the character Oonsk. Bungie, and later 343i when they took over, used it a bit. Profile pics, art of Oonsk and Mister Chief, and a few other things. It became an unofficial mascot of Reach.
