Who agrees that halo reach is the best?

Reach is the best

I’m with you on that one.

Meee

Me

I still prefer Halo 2 and 3. But Reach is still the most complete, feature full Halo game that was ever released. It still beats Halo 4, MCC and Halo 5 in features and play-ability and that is one hell of an achievement. Oh, and it’s a whole lot of fun.

Reach will always hold a place in my heart. I’ve has so many good times on Reach and it’s the perfect clan-based game. Although some Halos may have Breyer graphics or servers or maps or whatever but I will always remember Reach.

Halo Reach nailed the gameplay and art design and is the best of the Bungie Halo games, but overall best?

No.

Reach’s campaign is filled with forgettable (or just outright annoying) levels, and Noble Team, while awesome as a concept, is just filled with bland characters that I couldn’t ever care about. The writing is certainly the weakest out of all the Bungie Halo’s and the story is just as forgettable as the characters in it. Reach’s campaign, for me, only had two excellent moments in it and those were the New Alexandria missions, where you really got to see just how bad the Covenant were. Glassing cities with people still in them, murdering civilians as said civilians try to flee…It was a taste of the reality of the Human-Covenant War, and what the cost truly is for those caught in the middle of it.

But again, Halo Reach makes up for the shortcomings of it’s campaign with the incredible art design and what I feel was the most entertaining gameplay of the series.

I prefer the original trilogy, but Reach is still amazing.

agree

For some stuff, yes. But definitely not Multiplayer or Forge. Mp would go to either 2 or 5, and forge definitely goes to 5.

Reach is the best for Custom Games, Multiplayer, and character customization. Halo 5 beat Reach’s forge, but not it’s custom games. (So far at least.)

Yes.

Agreed.

I loved Reach because at the core of that game’s concept you are playing a hyper lethal vector version of yourself. Just like with ODST where we essentially are the Rookie. That and the fact that we get to see a totally different side to the Fall of Reach from the Nylund novel. I mean i hear entirely to often on here about how Reach made such and such canonical mistake, it made me quit Halo. Its all a bunch of bs. I dont see how anyone who has actually spent an extended period of time in the halo universe doesnt get the concept that the fall of reach happened over more than a months time, and was not just some skirmish action, it was the effective attempt at the destruction of the UNSC’s greatest military bastion, which actually turned the tide of the war into humanity’s favor. Though the Battle itself was a pyyric victory for the covenant. It is a game about a very small contribution of a SpecOp fireteam on a pretty small section of a PLANET.

Halo reach still dominates the competitive side of halo, even 5 is lesser compared to reach’s challenging game play. a good example on how they didn’t need the change in the first place to make money.

Halo Reach isn’t only best Halo it’s best game ever.

Oh my lord, what?

I’ll be honest, I only popped into this forum out of curiosity, but I never expected this.

Reach was AWFUL! It wasn’t even a Halo game. I even remember when it came out, everyone hated it. I never started seeing people say they liked it until recently.

I mean, ignoring how godawful the mutiplayer is, from the maps ripped straight from single player, down to the weapon bloom, how could you defend even the story? The aspect of Halo that was the deepest? The events of single player are impossible. They literally could NOT have occurred due to what we know from The Fall of Reach, which was released before Halo 1.

The Pillar of Autum never landed on the planet. Dr Halsey isnt supposed to know of the Spartan IIIs. Dr Halsey isnt even supposed to be on the planet. The spartans arent supposed to have unique armor. They aren’t even supposed to look different at all. Not even the different genders are supposed to be obvious when in armor. The game even got the LENGTH OF THE BATTLE OF REACH WRONG!

The multiplayer? It was just Call of Duty, man. It wasn’t even Halo…

Overall many of your complaints are valid. But most of those hold to the story.

Reach’s population was considerably lower than that of Halo 2 and 3, but it still held a larger population than games like Halo 5, Battlefront and Siege have. Reach even has a decent population still going.

The MP was in no way “just like Call of Duty”. TTKs are still long, with a health system that requires a health pack (and that hasn’t been seen in a COD game since the first one I believe) Your loadouts aren’t customisable. There are no player perks, ADS, weapon drops, sprint by default, clamber, or weapon unlocks. There isn’t even weapon skins. Then there’s the extremely strong and viable vehicles. The only thing close to COD is the EXP/Credit system.

Halo Reach may not have been a good Halo game. But it sure as hell wasn’t a COD game.

And as I said above, and earlier in my post. Reach was still very enjoyable, and was enjoyed by far more than the current Halo games (which actually are reskinned COD games).

Hmmm that’s funny sure I read a plaque stating dr. halsey died on Reach. Hmmm pretty sure there was this book called ghosts of onyx where halsey is rescued from oh yes what planet was that again. That’s right REACH. Oh my, and what is this? You mean that during OPERATION WHITE GLOVE when halsey was in Castle Base which is by the way on the Planet Reach she and her AI companion kalmiya did what? Oh yes they found several files one of which was titled SIII. Hmm what could that possibly mean? Oh yea SPARTAN III! Then they found a certain UNSC Army Colonel’s AI named Araqiel. After she undermined it’s intergity and ceased to exist she pilfered the files. One of which confirmed the suspicion she had about Spartans that were not her own, the other detailing the location of a planet for their training. Ill concede the point on the Pillar of Autumn not every being in Reach’s atmosphere but otherwise maybe you should go back and do some very careful rereading.
