343 already delayed the game once, and although u disagreed with that delay, I understood why they did. And I mostly think that one was due to Corona more than anything else. 343 just announced the game will launch without campaign co op or forge. I am disappointed mostly about forge, but from what I played of the flights, and seen of the campaign, it looks more than ready to release this fall. Yet some fans are wanting another delay. Thus would be ridiculous and would ruin all the hype Halo Infinite has built up yet again. There is no way 343 should or will delay at this point. If you are really arguing for a delay, ask yourself this: Would you rather Halo Infinite release with two missing features, I’ll even be pessimistic and say Halo 5 2.0, or have it turn out like the next Duke Nukem Forever or Aliens Colonial Marines, delayed a ridiculous amount of times and forgotten? Think about it.

Colonial Marines being broken had nothing to do with its delays. The main developer started working on it 2010 after Gearbox had essentially done nothing for four years, then had to get approval by Gearbox for everything they added to the game, until 2012, when Gearbox took the project back, wrapped it up and released it in February 2013.
Similarly, DNF was not the way it was because of the delays, but because that game changed developers four times, each one starting from scatch on some parts of the game while trying to recycle as much as possible from prior development. It was nothing but at a patchwork rug.
As for the question itself: I’d take anything above a repeat of H5G. That was one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life and it still breaks my heart to know that it’s part of my favorite gaming series of all time.
the people who want the game delayed now are not the people who opposed the initial delay, not sure how youre drawing that correlation.

I’d rather be able to play Co ops at launch than to wait 3 months dodging spoilers. No. No. I think I’d rather it be delayed. Also who you calling whiny?
If the game outside of a feature and mode are going to be high quality then it makes no sense to delay it further.

Honestly if these two things what are key components of Halo are missing, I’m starting to feel pessimistic about whether what little it may have. I desperately want Infinite to be good, but if it only has like 2 things, it doesn’t matter how good they are, there will be so much missing that it won’t be able to hold players in, and if you just say to those who find it so critical to wait it out then the population will be split all over from the start. What on Earth have they been doing in this whole delay? You don’t take 6 years to make a game and come up so empty handed. I’m seriously getting vibes of them purposely holding it back to call it “new content” later. Double points if they ever charge us for it, the Multiplayer being free to play I’m all but expecting any excuse to rip off money. I’m sorry 343 but I’ve openly defended you against haters for a while now, and you made me run out of arguments. I cannot defend or excuse this.

I never said that. I personally opposed the initial delay, but I think that one will be good for the long run. This one is simply a bunch of whiney fans wanting a delay because they can’t play co op within the first 3 months or forge within the first 6. And while I am bummed out, mostly for forge, I do not think that is in any way a reason to delay the game.

Halo 5 wasn’t all that bad. I wouldn’t even consider it the worst halo. Yes it was missing forge at launch and never had splitscreen, but it was far from the worst games I’ve played. In fact, it was better than most big games at release.

Have you never missed your favorite movie in the theaters or fallen a few months behind in your favorite TV show. Just don’t read spoilers and stay off way point for 3 months
Infinite’s delay had nothing to do with 'rona.
It was delayed because of massive negative backlash to the gameplay reveal’s sub par graphics.
Until then the game was ready in 343’s eyes for launch, despite now knowing that it wouldn’t have launched with coop campaign or forge since we now know they aren’t ready now.

While I don’t doubt the negative feedback had something to do with it, I absolutely doubt it was the main reason. But my guess is the game would have been borderline ready pre covid and that just slowed it down even more. The feedback may have been the final straw, but I highly doubt it was the main, let alone only reason the game was first delayed.
I’d rather have a delay and missing features be in at launch…which still wouldn’t require a 20 year gap like Duke Nukem Forever. It’s a false equivalency.

How about this. MP comes out this year and they delay campaign till co op is ready?

This. The game looks damn good, we just want it to be a full package

Nah it was delayed because that game demo they showed in 2020 was all they had completed for the game. No way they could finish a complete game with only that single level
“Whiney fans” are why we’re getting a new Halo game that actually looks and plays like Halo. Too bad now it doesn’t have co-op like every single Halo before it.

They have been making a game on a new engine which was still having changes occurring. The engine was still in development until at least late last year so many of these elements were effected or delayed certain aspects of development. It seems like the engine team dropped the ball more than the actual developers.

If that is true then its even more of a reason to delay the game
By that logic they’ve had less than an actual year of development time on the new engine?
This game is going to be un unmitigated disaster if that is the case

Not really. If a single aspect of the game is having technical issues and the rest that is being launched is not then that wouldn’t be a reason to delay. The game isn’t being delayed regardless. You can develop a game and tune an engine at the same time however specific aspects of development have to wait on the engine to be “online”. This is the reason why the graphics looked flat last year.

The mental gymnastics and apologetics is just bizarre to me eh
You know they were set to launch the game last yeah yeah?
The only reason it got delayed is because of the massive backlash it received
If what you said is true and they’ve had less than a full year of development on the new completed engine, then the project is doomed
I don’t know how you can honestly believe you can develop a game on an unfinished engine and expect a quality product
