Which way 343i will be taking Grifball

I’ve already posted about this a few weeks back, but I’d like to know what everyone thinks about this now that we are within a week of launch.

I wrote up a Grifball Article on our site about how I feel about Grifball in the past. I wanted to know what everyone else feels about it too.

So the topic question would be… Which direction do you think 343i should take Grifball in the new Trilogy?

Friendly fire should be off.

I think that friendly fire should just be limited, there are times when someone just won’t get away from me in a game, and draws too many of the other team to me. I would just like to be able to hit and not kill him on accident.

> Friendly fire should be off.

This is a terrible idea. Especially with the return to more “floaty” physics.

Welcome back to the discussion snickerdoodle :stuck_out_tongue:

Deal with it. Hammer tossing your opponents should be a tactic. What I’m more concerned about is endless betrayals that don’t result in a boot. I’ve been in a game where my team has spawn killed me, OVER AND OVER, I’ve also been in games where I’ve done the same.

“Deal with it” is not a good argument. You can launch without killing your teammate. See: Halo 3. It happened all the time and with the return to the floaty physics, it’ll happen in Halo 4.

So don’t play alone. Even when I play alone I rarely come across people like this.

And you are part of the problem, not the solution.

What snickerdoodle means is that if you are allowed to hammer toss you allies into the enemy territory, pretty soon everyone would be getting scores without ever touching the ground. It would increase my “throwing-controller-down-in-rage” moments exponentially.

After about 5 games of losing due to That exactly my throwing aim IRL improves dramatically. damn near put a hole through my TV once…

The only issue I have here is that I can’t intentionally kill my teammates. I am not someone who goes around betraying people constantly, but I have had games of Grifball in which a player from my team will take the ball and hide in the corner of the map instead of trying to score. It doesn’t matter if they have an opening or not, they’ll just stand there or run around in circles on our side. It’s really annoying, so typically I kill them so someone competent enough to actually play the game correctly can take the ball. But, if friendly fire was turned off, oh well. I just wouldn’t play very much most likely, no real harm done.

That’s a very good point, however I have had a few instances where someone on my team decided that they were the “oh-so-holy-ball-carrier” and killed me every time my armor-plated fingers touched the creepy looking skull. Maybe a two-hit kill would be better for friendly fire.

Outside of league play or playing MM with my friends, this is the only time I intentionally betray. I don’t play to hoard credits or kills. I want to win the game. The jerk that tries to hold the ball in the corner won’t like what’s coming his way if he doesn’t move it.
