Which video game has the best bosses?

  • Halo 2: Tartarus - Halo in general: Truth and Regret. - Call of Duty Ghosts: Rorke. He was a cool, cool bad guy. He wore his hat backwards, used cool slang and always acted cool when he was in danger. - Call of Duty Advanced Warfare: Irons. This is the typical bad guy. Somebody that rose to power because of war and economy collapse.

Serious Sam in general, although some of them tend to be more miniboss than boss (looking at you, Major Bio-mechanoid and Khnum).

And then there’s Final Fantasy.

Can I say bowser for the lols. Na the hardest boss fight is not screaming and uninstalling when Jul M’dama doesn’t get to be a boss fight.

In regards to Halo, I would say Regret is the hardest. Especially on Heroic or Legendary. You have to dodge his Killer Beam of Death and predict where he will teleport to all the while dodging fire from Grunts and avoid being impaled from Elite Honour Guards.

With the Tartarus fight, you can just cheese it with a Banshee.

Nope. I’m not joking.

I don’t even remember tbh since it’s been forever since I’ve played a good amount of games, but I wouldn’t say it’s in Halo. If I could remember, it would probably a game from the NES or SNES days.

Best boss fights are definitely not Halo’s forte… the best ones are the one’s you barely recognized as boss fights until they were over. The Chieftain at the end of The Ark in H3 being a very well done fight. It’s really a mini-boss, but it required far more effort than the actual boss fight with GS anyway.

I love this fight because it can be handled two different ways. Either you fight all the henchmen first (and at some point the main guy will just berserk and attack you), or you challenge the main guy to a one-on-one match and then have to fight his henchmen afterwards. It’s an interesting dynamic and a very underrated mechanic that the devs inserted in H3.

Gehrman the First Hunter, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower, and the Orphan of Kos from Bloodborne
Nightmare King Grimm, and Pure Vessel from Hollow Knight
Knight Artorias, Nameless King, Darkeater Midir and Slave Knight Gael from the Dark Souls series
Vergil (all iterations) from the Devil May Cry series
The Cyberdemon, The Marauder, the Doomhunters and the Icon of Sin from DOOM & DOOM Eternal
Mr Freeze, Deathstroke and The Arkham Knight from the Batman: Arkham series
Majora’s Mask, Majora’s Incarnation, and Majora’s Wrath from Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
Ganondorf and Ganon from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Just off the top of my head, and this is mainly my opinion.
