I think ODST because the UNSC only allow the better soldiers to become ODSTs not to mention that they can drop behind people.
Flamer Marines.

I don’t think you will get much argument from anyone here on Waypoint
As far as I’m concerned, there is no objectivity about the question. ODSTs are the easy pick. The quasi-suicidial Helljumpers are a force to be reckoned with.
ODST’s
I’m curious if anyone has information regarding which is better between the Marines seen in most games and the Army Troopers encountered in Reach. Both are obviously inferior to Spartans and ODSTs of course, but I’m intrigued.
ODSTs are pretty much the best of the best when it comes to non argumented soliders from what i know of the UNSC.
I’m going to go against the norm and say the Marines. They did the majority of the fighting during the war, they did all the dirty work while the ODST’s and Spartans took all the glory. Sure they’re not as tough or elite as the ODST’s but they deserve some credit.

Hellbringers ftw!
Though this is pure conjecture, I think I would have to say the Army for their dedication. While the Marines are assigned to ships and have an area to get extracted too the Army evidently doesn’t. I’m assuming they took pretty high casualties and receive the least recognition of all of the branches. Besides we still know little about the branch or what it’s Special Ops troops have to offer. Who knows, they may be even bigger bad–Yoinks!- than the ODSTs.
Stormtroopers! (Jk) But seriously, I’d say the ODST’s. Not anyone can become an ODST, only the best of the best can.

I am pretty sure the Marines are slightly better trained than the Army troopers. The Marines were the ones who were assigned to ships and sent out to face the Covenant threats when they appeared. The Army in Halo appear to be somewhat more of a planetary garrison force. Which is not to say they don’t fight well and didn’t make extraordinary sacrifices against the Covenant, just that they weren’t trained the same as Marines.
