While I like Chief’s character more than Locke’s, I couldn’t help but shake the fact that Locke’s trailer was just more chilling. The speech, the acting, and the fact how the music built up and just cut to sheer silence. It seemed to contain more rage and emotion than Chief’s trailer. His was just kinda like “Look what ya done, ya looneh”. Also, All hail the conquering hero is my new favourite line in video games.
You should have put a "liked them equally " option.
The Locke trailer.
Chief’s monologue in his trailer is so cheesey it makes me cringe. It’s soooo bad.
Chief’s trailer hands down. i hope that chief destroys him =) not kills him, but just roughs him up a bit.

I hope Chief kills Locke, kills Sarah Palmer and kills every member of Fireteam Majestic
I agree, the Locke trailer just had better lines. The voice/body acting on both was great, but I feel like Locke’s lines were written a bit better. Coulter delivered them brilliantly too.
I didn’t like seeing Chief all shot up like that
I was also excited to see him all pissed off. Like properly angry.
Locke’s (Colter’s) performance was awesome, though … but I got to give it to Chief.

Shew so much hate :).
I liked them both. Looking forward to see how things pan out.
I preferred the Locke trailer! My favorite character is Chief but I just liked Locke’s trailer more.
Chiefs trailer was better.
chief’s trailer had better visuals, but over all I liked Locke’s a bit better.
The amount of character coming out of the Master Chief of all characters in the second trailer was surprising, which is exactly why I love that one more. Also, Locke came off a bit wacky in his one.
Chief’s, I saw Locke’s first assuming that was all we got, and was pretty disappointed. Chief’s was frickin awesome.
Locke’s. The monologue, the voice, the tone, etc. Everything was just perfect. I literally had chills running down my spine after watching it. Chief’s trailer just didn’t do that for me.
I love Chief, but his dialog was just awful. Locke’s trailer was really poetic and dramatic. It was something that really made you feel. Chief’s was pretty much “Omg look what you did. Was it worth it? Huh? Was it worth it? I’m not sure if you heard me, but was it worth it? But do you think it was worth it? Cuz I’m not sure if it was worth it.”

The popular theory is that chief is talking to himself. You don’t know locke is there until the last 15 seconds. It’s implied that’s he talking to locke but you can tell Chief’s attitude changes when he turns his attention to locke.
Also Chief only said “Worth it” like twice.

He doesn’t even say it twice. It’s " was it worth it?..was it?"
And the last line to Locke was so badass I had to watch the trailer 30 more times just to hear Steve downes talking.
Locke’s trailer does a more effective job conveying the tone and mood the campaign ad is going for and for that, I like Locke’s. Cheif’s ad is very badass, as well. Both do the same thing very well, but seeing the Cheif laid out was a WTF moment if ever there was one! It gave Locke’s some serious mojo; I’m sure many people felt the same way. Here’s hoping that at the end of the day there will be room for both heros to shine because there is clear evidence that they’re both good guys!
Agreed. “All hail the conquering hero” that’s the line that made me choose Locke.
Locke’s script had better writing and it felt more gripping. I loved how it contrasted how humanity has viewed the Chief, to how this weighs up to his recent actions as well as how ONI view him now. Plus Colter’s voice acting has improved 1000x over his previous works. I honestly hope that’s how he’ll sound in the game.
Chief’s was good. But it was a little too ambiguous and uncertain. Much like him, I suppose.
